I took a couple of pictures that I think will help people understand what I mean by "Quarter Log Cabin Block". With this block and picture to follow, you can put together a quilt like this without a real pattern. However if you want a commercial pattern, it is available from:
www.ericas.com Pattern # 29420

Hope this helps everyone whose been asking for more information. Glad you all have enjoyed my quilt. I will attach a copy of it as well so you have a picture to follow for setting your blocks together.

How wide are your strips? I cannot see the marks on your ruler.

cjomomma 01-11-2011 06:36 AM

Very pretty quilt. Thank you for the instructions.

RkayD 01-11-2011 06:47 AM

Of course! Now I see it. Color combinations in blocks amaze me. =)

Cool thanks I have bookmarked this also. You guys are awesome

moreland 01-11-2011 07:28 AM

I think the width of the strips is optional. I used 2.5" strips for mine.

I love this Quilt pattern, and bought it! SO where were you when I needed you  I love your colors in this, it only gives the 'look' if you do it just so. 8-)

ritamaew 01-11-2011 10:44 AM

Okay I want the pattern and for for the life of me I can not find it at ericas. Perhaps if I could search by name of the pattern or the designer that would help. TIA

Rita

Very helpful. Thanks for sharing.

charmpacksplus 01-11-2011 04:07 PM

That looks great and the pattern seems easier than I thought it would be.

Mine were 2/5 inches. I think it is pretty much up to the quilter what size you choose to use.

amma 01-13-2011 10:53 AM

Thank you for this additional information :D:D:D

Ann63 01-17-2011 05:12 AM

Thank You for this info, your quilt is beautiful. I wanted to make this quilt but was a little intimidated.

ljptexas 03-17-2011 06:22 AM

It is gorgeous! I've wanted to try this but it looks so difficult until I saw the log cabin block.
Do U make all alike & how many?
What's the size of the quilt?

thanks...

I could not find this pattern at the Erica site either!
Is there an actual designers name on this pattern?

gingerella 03-20-2011 10:18 PM

I found the pattern at the site indicated - www.ericas.com
and I just typed in the little space on the upper left hand corner Think Outside the Box - All the quilt patterns came up, and Think outside the Box is there, down a ways - nearly to the end.

I tried that, nothing comes up!

jaciqltznok 03-21-2011 07:38 AM

found it at my distributor...it is by Toadusew! They have some great patterns!

Michelle48350 03-21-2011 07:40 AM

I think this is going on my list of things to do... someday. LOL. I love this one.

Cheshire Cat 03-21-2011 08:18 AM

just bought this pattern from Toadusew for my 13 yo for a 4-H project. The pattern is 1.5 inches strips. 2.5 strips would be easier but I don't know how much fabric to buy. The math of quilting kills me sometimes. How do you all convert patterns so you know what to buy and cut?

EQ....but if the pattern calls for 1.5" strips then see what yardage it requires..now double that since with 2.5" strips you will not only be using wider strips, but will also need Longer ones...

Ms Kay 03-23-2011 11:07 AM

thank you but that doesn't help

rusty quilter 03-23-2011 11:08 AM

The visual really helps!

Ms Kay 03-23-2011 11:16 AM

then I must be dummer than I thought. I just sent for the pattern and hopefully it will show me how to lay it out.

hcarpanini 03-23-2011 11:45 AM

Thanks for the info. It's on my list.

I'm sure it will and we all want to see your quilt when you get it finished. When you see the layout, it is sorta' like a lightbulb going off in your head, because what looks so hard turns out to be pretty easy after all.

DebraK 03-23-2011 05:58 PM

those colors are awesome.

   I'm with you on the math stuff I am horrible at math and when I make quilts that don't have that figured out then I just cut away  We must be sisters

carolaug 04-25-2011 01:58 AM

Beautiful quilt! Just wondering if the pattern uses a strip piecing method,or just cutting many rectangles and squares? I prefer strip piecing.

Evelynquilts 11-11-2011 10:47 AM

Wonderful...thank you...

Fabriholic 11-11-2011 10:49 AM
