I admire your beautiful hand stitching. Applique and hand stitches is so me and relaxing.

For this quilt I used Quilters Dream Request for the first time - it was quite easy to quilt through but I must confess I prefer the Hobbs 80/20 or Legacy 80/20. For my next large project I am going to use wool. Right now I am quilting a cot quilt with a poly batting (Legacy) and this is also wonderful to quilt through. Normally I don't like poly but if the cot quilt turns out well I want to enter it in a show.

I think I don't know exactly why my stitches are quite small...maybe because I only take one stitch at a time? A high quality material is also very important for me and I prefer fabrics with a thread count of around 75 per inch counted in one direction.

Wow!! You did a wonderful job! Your handquilting is superb!! I can't say enough. It is beautiful!!

Now I don't feel so bad that it takes me 6-9 months to finish a quilt since I am able to quilt for only a couple of hours on most days.

wow...this is just beautiful! Where do you find your wholecloth patterns? I had a friend ask me just the other day if I had seen any recently at the estate sales and sadly I have not.

Your quilt is beautiful and your hand work is awesome. It has always amazed me how one does hand quilting, it must take lots of patience. When I started quilting seven years ago, I never attempted to learn quilting by hand, as I had carpel tunnel in both hands. Since that time I have had surgery on both hands with success and would like to learn to quilt by hand.
