What a beautiful way to remember the generations of your family. Really lovely quilt. I learned a lot about the family as I gathered the last small bits of missing info. Even though I have looked through the printed genealogy over the years, I had lost track of some of the chronology. |
I will, I will email my mom and ask her if she is done yet, she was having a hard time finding where she put the lace to go around the pictures for a while. I think she found it though. She had tried several things to help Grandpa keep it all straight. There are 26 grandkids and numerous greatgrand kids. There is even 2 great great grand kids. Everytime someone asked a question, it was way to hard to remember which kids was who's etc. She made a connecting line following the generations, made it easy for anyone looking to follow. She made it as a lap quilt, intending for him to be able to nap under it, but he wouldn't, he ended up hanging it on the wall behind the couch. Where it stayed until he passed away. Mom got the quilt back after that.

Hi, what state are your Farnhams from? My husband has Farnham relatives from Maine and Mass. I have them on our Civil War family quilt. All relatives of his that fought in the Civil War, both sides.
