Here are pictures of the progress of a baptismal dress and jacket for our new granddaughter. We used my DDIL's wedding dress for fabric. I had a hard time cutting into the dress, but my DIL was more than ready. Thanks to Cris for the pattern and everyone for the ideas in the other post I had.

I can see why you would be hesitant to cut up the wedding dress, BUT..it turned out so beautiful and so is Lily! Aren't grandchildren the greatest.

We took the lace from my wedding dress and added it to my daughter's First Communion dress. She even wore my veil! It's all back in the box for future use!

You did such a lovely job on the christening dress.... and Lily is absolutely beautiful. Now she can save it for her first child to wear. A wonderful and meaningful tradition.
