I worked on it for a couple of hours tonight after work. I got those HST sections sewn and pressed and figured out where they go. For a change of pace I got the 25 hearts for the centers all cut out, each from a different fabric, and one of them is ready to sew on.

I didn't use the Accucut on this. I got that program where you print a sheet of HSTs. It's like Thangles but I can't think of the name of it. I cut a strip of the ivory and a strip of the color and sewed one continuous line to make 8 HSTs out of each combination. But then have to carefully trim it and cut them all apart.

I haven't tried that paper stuff for HST...it looks like it worked great for you....did you like using it?

I do like using the paper, it really does a nice job. I was already started on the quilt and wasn't looking forward to doing those tiny HSTs then remembered someone on this board talking about the printed sheets. It's Triangle Magic here http://www.quiltpro.com/page/productMain

A few of the hearts have the seam allowance pressed under and are glued to the quilt. I thought I had some monofilament to sew them on but I can't find it! I'll need to run to Joann's today and while I'm there going to get one of those little wand irons. It's very unwieldy to iron the hearts with the big iron.

That is looking awesome!

I'm loving it Pam. It's coming out gorgeous. Even though it's beautiful the way it is, the hearts are making a huge difference.

Thanks :) I am really liking how it's coming together. I just love the process and seeing how it looks at every step. I think I'm at that point where each step is getting exciting and I want to hurry up and get to work on the border and see how that's going to look.

I cut some more Kona cotton off the bolt and washed it yesterday, including the long length I need for the borders. I'll get the strips cut and WELL starched. I figure that I'll get the quilt measured and mark the border lengths, lay it next to the quilt and mark where each side green square is. That is where the border loops will need to go into the seam.

Sounds like you've figured out ways to mix the boredom of sewing HSTs with doing other stuff on your quilt.

LOOKING GOOD!

Yes, it's a nice break and lets me totally finish a section. The first row of hearts is sewn on.

Finished heart... not perfect but done!
