Your quilt is beautiful! You should be very proud of it too! You should go back and get it and keep it for youself and display it in your home proudly. I made a baby quilt for our first grandson years ago and hand quilted it. 6 months later while visiting I saw it in their garage on the greasy floor under the stroller. I never made them another one.

That's absolutely terrible...you did a beautiful job of it and I feel for you. I'm just going to come right out and say it...that behavior is horrible. Your quilt is beautiful and you should be very proud of your work and your generosity

Well he just doesn't know a good thing when he sees it. That is a beautiful wall hanging and the effort should have deserved something better. Can't pick your family though. Don't let it discourage you. Move on and quilt on!

SVS that you have had such bad experience. {{{HUGS}}}

So sorry - I know how you feel as I have had similar experiences. Just remember that you gave a gift of love from your heart if the other person didn't accept it as that it is their loss. Hugs to you and don't give up.

It looks great! Don't stop giving!

so sorry ,I know how you feel. when I married my first husband we had little money so I crocheted my mom a king size quilt out of granny squares and she never put it on her bed an never said anything except you should have done this or that. this was about 25 years ago, about 15 years ago she gave it back and said I think you should take this back I have no use for it. I have it stored away for my youngest daughter when she has a place of her own. i love my mom but I do not make her anything i just give her money. Her lose, my daughters gain....

Pssssh. I think it's very patriotic! And for your first one, very intricate! Sometimes we don't always get the reaction we look for, but instead of thinking that you did it for him, think that you did it for YOU. You had fun making it, right?

I am so, so sorry your Dad did this to you and especially since it was made by your hands and alot of love put into it. I'd love to get something like this as a gift!!! Anyone can buy a gift but it's extra special when made by the person giving it. As a Mother, Step-Mother and a Grammy now I can't even imagine saying something that hurtful to any of my children!!! I think you did a fantastic and don't let this one incident discourage you from making other quilts/wall hangings. Someday your Dad will realize how he's hurt you. {{{{{HUGS}}}}}

Oh my! My heart is hurting for you. Sometimes family members can hurt us more than others can. If he doesn't want it, I agree, get it back and find someone who will really appreciate it. You did a great job on it. Sending you hugs and hope you have a great, blessed day in spite of this.
