I love everything about your quilt. You were so right to add that pop of navy, and I love the way you quilted it. The backing is perfect. What a great job!

Love your quilt. It gives me the ambition to start our DD and SIL's wedding quilt (actually first anniversary quilt as they got married June 9, 2017) I have a pattern from MSQC, their triangle ruler and enough gray ombre to make a queen/king, but like you decided it needed a little punch (your navy) and ordered a fat quarter bundle with grays, taupes, etc. in darker colors. I, too, am a firm believer in starch, so with your wonderful example and tips, will start it this fall, after two baby quilts that aren't going to wait LOL Thank you for posting and know that the mom and baby will love it!
One question though: Did you assemble it in diagonal rows? |
It's a wonderful baby quilt and I like your navy and white additions... and the backing is perfect. The expecting mother is sure to love it. Great job!

One question though: Did you assemble it in diagonal rows?[/QUOTE] No, I assembled the rows straight across. I imagine the MSQC wedge is very similar to the ruler I used-there will be a flat edge along the top of the triangles-makes it easy to line up the wedges correctly, and when you press them open, they form a straight line across the tops and bottoms. Congrats on gaining a son, and your quilt will be beautiful-looking forward to seeing it! |
What a fabulous baby quilt! And I love how you quilted it, too!
