Without hearts. The quilt is so soft looking without the hearts. Somehow I think the hearts overpower the pattern of the quilt. Just MHO

I love your quilt. It is soooo nice but i vote for without the hearts. Quilting hearts though in the middle to replace the applique hearts would look great. Happy B-day to your sister.

vwquilting 04-18-2011 08:07 PM

I love the hearts but would definatly do them in a Blue fabric to keep the calmness of the blue. Like Wedgwood

jmabby 04-18-2011 08:08 PM

I personally don't care for hearts, I would put a dove on it.

Ziva 04-18-2011 08:09 PM

If you used blue hearts that would be great!!

Leota 04-18-2011 08:10 PM

I prefer without hearts unless you can make blue hearts... the colors distract from the blue

sunflowerpeg 04-18-2011 08:26 PM

you could always use the hearts on pillows or pillow shams...just a thought. ~peg

janedee 04-18-2011 08:32 PM

my personal choice would be without the coloured hearts but I would quilt them in instead probably in blue

travelingquilter 04-18-2011 10:24 PM

i'm with you...leave the hearts off. especially since she loves blue. the snowballs go with the cool tones of the blue. beautiful as is.

BrendaB 04-18-2011 10:58 PM

At first, I thought without the hearts - until I saw them. I LOVE the quilt with the hearts. You did a beautiful job and however you finish it will be beautiful. Maybe you need to make one without and one with. lol

stitchingcrazy 04-18-2011 11:07 PM

I think without the hearts because it looks more classy. it depends on your sister's personality really. if she's bubbly and fun then hearts (with some blue ones) would be fine, but if she's a classy chick then without. Quilt hearts in the centres maybe? just MHO. It's a lovely quilt whatever you decide. Good luck.

Have you thought about changing the colors of the hearts to the blues you used in the blocks? Just a suggestion, if you had your "heart" set on putting hearts on your quilt.

Vickymomof6 04-19-2011 02:32 AM

If the hearts were blue I would say go for it but the colored one just don't do it.

Shirlx 04-19-2011 03:24 AM

I like no hearts better.

Thanks for the great site!

I like it without the hearts, unless u inserted the two different blues into hearts and put on the snowballs!

Ragann63 04-19-2011 07:15 AM

I like the hearts, but not in those colors. I would stick with either the blue theme, or pick one color for the hearts. The large snowballs are too large for my taste without something to break them up and add a little pizzazz!!

Mariposa 04-19-2011 07:20 AM

Without. But perhaps a quilted heart done in a blue for the middle of the snowball blocks~

ruck9085 04-19-2011 07:54 AM

Without please.

Jammin' Jane 04-19-2011 08:28 AM

I like the first one!
I'm a "blue kinda girl" too!
Your sister will love it!
(white thread on the white blocks)

Motorcyclemad 04-19-2011 09:30 AM

Without the hearts, but I would have the hearts outline quilted in the snowballs.

sewgarden 04-19-2011 01:49 PM

I would like blue hearts. I think the snowballs are to white. Maybe even just quilt blue hearts on it.

mshawii 04-19-2011 03:07 PM

Without the hearts. They make it too cutsy! Jan

Debbie B 04-19-2011 03:09 PM

Both are nice and look great. Some "fancy" quilting in the white areas would really pop.

theresa.redington 04-19-2011 04:21 PM

I like the hearts :o)

Yes, I think with the variety of colors it does seem juvenile. RED hearts would be my choice.

I agree with this idea. I believe this would be very pretty with some varigated thread.

nabobw 04-20-2011 11:30 AM

without hearts

chairjogger 04-20-2011 11:32 AM

hearts makes the quilt for younger person.. ? Really nice work ! Walk around it and take a look from the side.
Weird. but , I have been shocked by some of my stuff from the side angle.. a shock of thumbs up and thumbs down. hah!

good luck deciding !
Ell

bobquilt3 04-22-2011 01:59 PM

I'm not much of a heart person so I like it without them. Richer looking.

JanieH 04-22-2011 03:40 PM

While I like both, without wins my vote!

gmaybee 04-22-2011 07:22 PM

I love the all blue. I pieced a snowball quilt top for a former boss and she had another person hand quilt it with feathered wreaths in the snowball block. It turned out so pretty when quilted. How about a feathered heart in the quilting?

drgranny 04-24-2011 11:52 AM

Use blue hearts.

KandiKane 04-24-2011 12:05 PM

love them both , but the hearts are just beautiful..

ronnie17 04-26-2011 04:54 PM

I'm not into frilly, but the hearts are adorable!

Becky13 04-26-2011 04:56 PM

Hmmm, I think I prefer without the hearts cuz like others have said, I love the blue and white
