they are both beautiful but I think I like the 2nd one best.

I vote for #2 too. I think the scattered inner border makes the quilt look bigger, not so much focus on the center.

Which looks better? Does the white down the middle look too regimented and predictable? Or does it look more in keeping with the on-point setting of the blocks?

I like the first one. It stands out more with the white in the center and holds my attention to look at the center.

I think a year ago I would have picked the left one but now I'd say the right one. I'm straying away from my matchy matchy thing. They both look great.

I think the second one is more pleasing to the eye. They are both pretty though.
