I bought these at good will because I liked the fabric, $1.
Finished product using a little fake suede for handles and bottom, inside of wallet |
Wow, they look like something from an expensive boutique. Very nice work and choice of fabrics.

Thinking outside the box again. Beautiful.

You did a beautiful job. I bought some placemats at a garage sale that I loved but have yet to make anything of them. You should consider doing a tutorial of this; your results are very professional.
|
Excellent, excellent workmanship.

I agree with AngieS -- can you do a tute on the wallet? Please! I have been using placemats to make simple grocery bags but yours totally put mine down a rung or two. The wallet is really, and I mean REALLY, nice.
|
Very professional looking!Sure makes a nice set.

Love them

There was no pattern or tute, just flying by the seat of my pants and looking at pictures of wallets I would like to have. Its just your basic tote with a little hardware. I put Bow tuck type pockets on the inside. Fusable pellon on the suede bottom. Some places got kinda hard to sew through and the bottom seam on the inside had to be covered with bias tape. The zippered pocket on the wallet was just something I came up with. I've made several purses from patterns and a couple of wallets from tutes. Once you do it a couple of times you learn the ins and outs and dont need a patttern. On the wallet I used a salad plate to make the curved flap. I'm always trying to find something new to sell in my little shop. I think this one might be a keeper.
