 Yes, I can definitely feel that I have a quilt inside me waiting to come out. Probably before this year is out. Right now I'm trying to catch up on my knitting projects. I think I will take breaks and make some squares :D

I used to iron my quilting seams open like you do because that is how we are taught when we sew garments, ect but if you can iron them to one side (usually tward the darker fabric) your blocks will line up much neater :) Great job and please post pics of the finished project :)

I will keep this in mind. Thank you for the suggestion.

If you look at the image, I have it sitting on the mat so you can see...

The top edge is a tad over 8.5 inches across; however, if you look down the side, starting at the top right corner, it is 8.5 inches and increases to about 8.75 inches at the bottom right corner. It's workable into a quilt top.

I think part of the problem is using a rotary cutter. I just need a bit more practice with cutting (this is also my first time ever using a rotary cutting wheel). Seaming is no problem so long as I remember to use 1/4" instead of 3/8" seams.

cjaye44 01-18-2011 04:12 PM

Good job.....the first is always the hardest. You're on your way!
