We just use traditional blocks, nothing special. GOM did come up with the design for the bit that goes over the pillows though, worked it out scientifically with paper, protractor and compass, then forgot about the seam allowance, which is why there are tiny little strips in between each wedge!

I know what you mean, but I don't feel the same way, at least most of the time!! I like him to take an interest.

And guess what Sandy - he loves the quilt in your Avatar and so do I! What fabulous colours.

We do indeed each have our own machine. We started off sharing a Brother NX400 (mine) then he suggested I upgrade and he could have the NX all to himself! Well, no argument from me on that one! I now have a Brother Quilt Club 1000 and he hates it! So, its all mine!

Hi Vickymomof6 - nope, not any more! We did, until we got "his" and "hers"!

Neither of us has "stash". We each have a fabricologist research centre. We have some different tastes in patterns and colours, so we do raid each others' fabric from time to time. Works out well, except I think he does more raiding than I do .......

I'll bet your dad would have been a great quilter! Especially as he already knew one end of a sewing machine from the other.

Great quilts! Love the masculine touches in each of them.

Hi Eddie - we had a look at your blog, and after seeing your quilts, are really grateful for your kind comments. I don't know why more men don't quilt, its a wonderfully creative hobby and very satisfying. p.s. I use a Brother QC 1000 too!
