Like I said earlier, I appreciate everyone's comments. We need to keep a decent tongue here (probably not all "sweetness" but a certain decorum must be kept). People who disagree with my pics can voice their opinion as long as they do not resort to personal attacks. People who like my pics and get my humor can voice their support as long as they don't bash the opposition. This has been a controversial but civil thread for the most part and I'd like to keep it that way.

How about one round of {{{{Hugs}}} I promise that I don't have any implements of destruction in my hand or pocket.

I AGREE 100%!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Saw that in the internet a few days ago. Thought they pushed it over to far also. He was trying to make it into something else 1st, but I forgot what.

We'll plan a wake as soon as you return from Germany! Have you watched Monsters Inc? Cute animated film. Lots of monsters in those closets to get ideas from. You could make it's skin quilted patchwork. How about a ghost whose white sheet is replaced with a quilt, with holes for the eyes, like Casper, another non-violent cartoon?

Mad, Mad, you are Mad!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Wish you were home from Germany sooner so when I go to retreat in California in May you could be there. We'll miss ya....Had to come see what the to-do was......Let's see 4 to 100....That's a great score.
I have to admit ,I was one of the 6 original KSBS makers......It was done off the QB....
There are quilts in the museums and at quilt shows showing this theme...
You do have quite the imagination......
I'm sitting at the retreat in Van ALystyne and most of us read this and remember well.
Loved the part about killing off sam now too.....
It always amazes me the ones who come in and read and look and stay here to comment when they don't like it.....
Love the ones who took it for what it is.....a playful way to express yourself......
Hugs, Mad.....

I had never heard of such a thing but I love the humor in this!! The ideas you come up with!! When you said you had more in your head I had to look and make sure you lived a distance away...lol

DOTTYMO 03-08-2013 08:13 AM

I took my 3 year old nephew to see the very first Harry potter film. I had worked it out with mum if he didn't like film or. Sit still etc. hired a booster seat all prepared. He sat on his legs between myself and his older brother and never moved or spoke. At the end walking to the car asked hi. If he enjoyed it yes but he didn't like the dog. That to me was a quick shock . He is 13 well adjusted trains to be a. GB canoeist in 4 years time. No. Effect I am sure these pictures would harm nobody and are tame to the imagination of children

Thanks for the chuckle. I'm really a tame and strangely well-adjusted person. lol

My zodiac is the bull and I am a true Taurus which means that I have a lot of patience even when somone waves a red flag in my face. However, there comes a time when the patience runs out and I take care of business swiftly and concisely. But then I don't hold a grudge either.

CountryHouseQuilter 03-08-2013 09:19 AM

Love the idea, Quilt and your work!!!! You've done an awesome job!!!! Lots of time and talent went into each of these blocks. I especially like the tribute to Hitchcock!!!! One of my favorites!!!! Keep up the good work. I'm hoping you post a picture when it's all done and put together, I'd love to see it!!!!!

np3 03-08-2013 09:21 AM

The signs of the Zodiac attack SBS. Has someone done that yet? Bet they have. lol

That is so funny because I have yet to watch Pulp Fiction - couldn't make it through the first 15 minutes and I love Labyrinth - actually own that one. What a great message in that movie and as the older sister I can totally relate. Now I must admit that I also love the Kill Bill movies and they make me lol but I have absolutely no use for Seinfeld, Adam Sandler, and the 3 Stooges. Go figure.

OMG, I love Pulp Fiction. I do enjoy most of Quentin Tarantino's earlier works. I didn't care for Kill Bill though. Reservoir Dogs was amazing as well as Both Dusk to Dawns.

I have one more to finish this weekend and then I was going to post the next installment. This will include:
PMS?
Charlotte meets Sue (Spider's Web)
Carrie Sue (not everyone saw that one on this thread - it is buried lol) That one is from Steven King's movie Carrie.
Giant Stew Sue
Sam's Game (an adaptation from Steven Kings's novel "Gerald's Game) This one I may not embellish since it won't go on the quilt. It does not match stylistically and it is too creepy - even for me.

and the ones I got from the swap:
Hell's Angel
Road to Paducah
Amy Sue Winehouse
Menopause Sue
Paciderm Poo Sue.

I promise that the names will fit the pictures. lol

gramajo 03-08-2013 10:37 AM

Can't wait to see them all!

MadQuilter, I've read every post, day by day, and admire you for your restraint towards those with their knickers in a twist: thank goodness.

I do not want to see this thread vanish: I am soooooo looking forward to seeing the next installment of blocks.

Hmmmm ... how 'bout Sweet Sue sinking into the La Brea Tar Pits?
:)

Fraew 03-08-2013 08:26 PM

La brea tar pits? :D

You all are really cracking me up with this. Can't wait to see more.

dreamer2009 03-08-2013 08:35 PM

Hahahaha....wish I had thought of this clever one liner!!!!!! Mad....continues to be an entertaining thread. Worth the re read!!! I didn't say before, your handi work is to DIE for!!!!! (Got me one in there!)

petthefabric 03-08-2013 11:43 PM

One need look no further than the Bible for gorry stories: SBS and Goliath, SBS on a cross, the martyrdom of SBS, SBS miss the Ark, Seth and SBS, SBS turns to salt pillar at the distruction of Sodom and Gammorah, SBS in Egypt, The Death Angel passes over SBS. Man/Woman have been evil from the fall. To think we're sickly sweet is not reality. I've never met an adult who was warped due to reading the stories of the Bible as a child.

paulettepoe 03-09-2013 02:20 AM

redvette54 03-09-2013 07:15 AM

Gotta love it and the 30 plus pages of discussion. You go, girl

SandyinZ4 03-09-2013 07:42 AM

Well, this has certainly been an entertaining thread. First off, my kudos to you Martina for being such a creative person. I too am on the positive side and looking forward to the next block and all the future ones, too. You and I would get along well, because I never, ever could stand watching the 3 Stooges, either. Love all the neat ideas your mind comes up with. Keep us posted.

pinkcastle 03-09-2013 08:00 AM

Very clever! Your work is fantastic. This whole thread has made me chuckle. Just goes to show what a varied world we live in. Keep 'em coming! Can't wait to see more.

sew1 03-09-2013 11:32 AM

I and hubby both laughed looking at these. Definitely a different spin on Sunbonnet Sue.

Blinkokr 03-09-2013 11:48 AM

Those are a riot, great job and thank you for sharing.
Have a Blessed day
Ellen

alikat110 03-09-2013 03:26 PM

Hey Mad, this thread has really sparked my imagination....now really thinking of a series of blocks with a Penthouse Sue theme. I've already got three planned in my head, including the one we discussed in our pm's.

QM 03-09-2013 03:38 PM

I know my guild sisters hate the "bad Sues, but I like them and I like what you have done. (I also like to play with more traditional sues.)

sircaymen 03-09-2013 05:00 PM

I disagree, isn't there enough violence in the world. Quilts are a source of joy and comfort and should never glorify evil.

Then please do not attempt the disappearing nine patch pattern. Cutting up a tradition quilt block would be contradicting your statement. Ruining everything?? REALLY?

...and doing this gives me and many others much joy. So we have to agree to disagree.

Alikat, I don't think you can post pictures of the Penthouse Sue coz those would DEFINITELY violate the decency clause of the QB. lol

krissr 03-09-2013 11:32 PM

I love them. how fun

miriam 03-10-2013 02:21 AM

Maybe someone could do an aged Barbie - what does Barbie look like when she sags, gains weight and gets wrinkles?
