I would use solids and do a skinny brown, wider white/cream and then bind with the brown. It is beautiful, and just needs a frame.

I would use a dark brown tonal to stop the action It should not be one of the fabrics in the quilt but in a brown tone of your darkest brown that is in the quilt. This will quiet down the quilt which most log cabins need.I love it.

It is beautiful. As for a border, I wouldn't use one. I would just use a binding and be done with it.
It doesn't need any more movement, and the "eye candy" is fulfilled with the beautiful colors and block placement. Mariah. |

i'd pick a brown tonal type fabric already used in the quilt - cut it about 1.5 inch - 2 inches wide...Then use the lighter color in your quilt for a border about 4-5 inches wide. I'd do maybe just 2 rows of border because your center is your focal point.
For the binding, i'd be tempted to do something like i did below...I'm finishing this up and absolutely have fallen in love w/ the way this border and binding have come out.. from a distance up close - binding cut on bias ~ doesn't have to be though |

I would probably use a brown tone on tone to really
pull out and frame the quilt. I wouldn't use solid - but a nice mottled or tone on tone. Marcia |
The fabric you purchased on eBay seems to me to have a different 'flavor' than the fabrics you used in the rest of the quilt...I wouldn't use it myself

I personally would use a narrow rusty brown with a wider red.
