Thank you for your kind words and encouragement! :) :)
I will post pictures of the completed projects as I get each one done! It has been quite the learning experience getting ready for the insurance guy!! :) :) In the meantime - here's a pretty pic of my super clean studio! |
Thanks for sharing....I don't feel so bad now. ;)
You'd better get busy! :) (as I sit here thinking how I'm the pot calling the kettle black! LOL!)
Can I come to your house and play?

=) but I do love looking at pictures of finished projects - most of my stuff winds up being gifts for others. =) sometimes when i'm too tired to do anything else I will just look at the pictures. =) |
I have to show my husband these pics = he thinks I have a big stash. Mine doesn't even come close!
You really have got me into stitches of laughter - oh my gosh. I am not bad at all......thanks for sharing. I wish you very good luck cause if that was ME, i would not know where to START. Keeping my fingers crossed that you will be able to do at least HALF of these this year AND STAY AWAY FROM THE SHOPS, that is all i can say................oh dear me, this is really so funny.

This maybe the reason so many quilters get overwhelmed with their quilting. And why there is so much clutter in ones sewing room. I can't understand having this many projects lined up to make. I always finish a quilt before starting another one. I wonder if this isn't the case of wanting to be a quilter? And buying a lot of kits/fabric but never making any of these projects? How can anyone get this many projects done in a lifetime. I say, sell all these kits, keep a couple, organize your sewing room and start sewing. |
Jessica...can I come live in your sewing room????? :-)

first stop - getting OFF this computer and getting today's errands done, so i can SEW SEW SEW this evening! I'll be back later - with more comments i'm sure! :) thank you everyone! your kind words, encouragement, and even good-natured laughter mean so much to me. |
You need to do like me and sit down and write out everything that you have planned. I couldn't believe how long the list was AND I have almost everything that I need to finish the projects! I have marked off 3 of them and it feels GREAT! Now, how many do I have to mark off before I can add more to the list? ;-)

And a Partridge in a Pear Tree!!!
And I thought I had a lot of fabric. You gals have me beat!! |
Thats a start.
I've seen some of my girlfriends stashes and don't feel so bad! I'm grateful I bought a lot when I made a lot of money working- I have MS now and lost all my financial holdings and live on SS only, so all my stash is such a BLESSING now! Everything is organized and I have a beautiful sewing room with every wall full and pretty. I could never replace everything now, and I'm only in my early 50's. I have enough to last ummmm....I hate to say LOL! I'm a garment sewer, too, so that's part of it, but I'm thankful for every piece! Never too much, and when a friend is in need or Charity fabric is needed, you have it.
Oh my gosh. You are a small store.. ha ha
I love the materials you have. Happy sewing.. I sometimes get caught up with projects too. Connie |
GREAT PROJECTS!
Guess you "know" what you gotta do.... sewwwwwwwwww your brains out! LOL Get going girl! Times a wasting, it is already the 10th of January. All kidding aside. Don't beat yourself up. At least you have it all organized and you know there is plenty to do when you have the ahhaaa moment of 'what should I do?'! Happy sewing. :-D |
I'm impressed!
I have the Herd of turtles pattern with the reverse applique!
That should take you through the winter. Boomerang 2.0 Swap I like those colors.
I love all your fabrics, can I come play at your house?
I love all your PP and WIPs.
You're braver than I am. I'd hate for people to see all the things I'm working on/planning or have started and lost time/interest. :)
You are so organized. I admire it. I have some of my WIPs, just some of them, in plastic grocery bags, hanging from nails in my sewing room - those are the ones I haven't even started. We are a group of doers, plan to do, want to do, maybe will do. LOL
Well thank you for the reassurance that I am not abnormal....just a quilter with alot of projects!! In speaking with my friends, most of us are in the same boat so just enjoy the process.
I want to go shopping @ your house.
Gee, I feel better now - thanks for making my day LOL!
On the upside, these all look like wonderful projects! |
I don't see why you should feel embarrassed about anything. I love your collection.
But anyway, this whole thread demonstrates two different kinds of people...just as I read years and years ago about many people with different hobbies. 1. There are the people who want to see things get finished because they love the finished PRODUCT. 2. There are the people who love the PROCESS. Every part of it. The planning, the buying, the stacking and looking at the fabric, sorting, the cutting and sewing. The finished Product is a byproduct--the result of the fun of buying, collecting, etc. This variance in personalities causes conflicts and even some nasty conflicts and comments. Those who are type 1 just don't understand type 2. They think they have a problem, are inferior, undedicated, unable to concentrate, undisciplined, etc. I have a husband who is type 2 about building things. He loves the finished product (as we all do our quilts) but even more important and the part he spends hours and hours doing is the planning and the building part because he likes doing it. O I'll freely admit that there are times I wish he was more like type 1. :) But when it comes to quilting, I Completely understand Type 2. I love the process....the finished qulit is simply a byproduct of the fun of the making. |
Jessica, your stash is great! Looking at your blog, I would say based on the 3 of projects you completed in 2010, and already in 2011, I say it's all 100% justified, LOL.
