OMG -- so another thread was talking about insuring the stash/machines/etc and it got me thinking. I'm not sure that my boyfriend's renter's insurance covers all of my stuff. So I called my insurance guy about getting my stuff covered and I'm meeting with him tomorrow to get the details worked out.

Many people on the other thread mentioned photographing the stash/machines/etc for insurance purposes so I got to work today cleaning and organizing and photographing all of the stuff that lives in my little studio.

a) I have a serious problem. I am officially joining the purchasing hiatus for new projects. I MUST FINISH what I already have.

b) I have an ungodly amount of Works in Progress (WIP)/Planned projects (PP). Just look:

edited to add: these pictures are not stash pictures, these are pictures of fabric that already has a plan/pattern!

I love the Snap Pack!!! Good luck getting them all done.

hobo2000 01-09-2011 12:55 PM

Well, that's a start. Now for the entre' and dessert..LOL

CoyoteQuilts 01-09-2011 12:55 PM

You need to visit my place. I have blocks swapped in 2007 that keep crying for me to do something with. I have 2 large totes of blocks from swaps and that is not talking about all of the sewing projects that I have lugged across this beautiful country 20 years ago......

fleurdelisquilts.com 01-09-2011 12:58 PM

You know what I do when I have lots of little projects? I start with the fastest ones. Get those knocked out of the way and feel inspired to tackle some bigger projects. How long can it take for a pillowcase? Probably an hour or so. You could get one or two projects done in an afternoon. Wouldn't that get you going?

beberle 01-09-2011 01:06 PM

I would hate to know how many I haven't started, let alone how many are UFO's. I used to finish a quilt when I first started quilting in 2000, but last year or maybe the year before I said I was going to finish ones on a list of 10(got the idea from a quilt shop or blog in Texas) and was shocked to discover I had! 20 & still counting. Good luck! Oh, btw, they are pretty, I love the colors. They will be prettier once you get them done!

hperttula123 01-09-2011 01:11 PM

My goodness!!!! I want all your fabrics!!!! I can't wait to see your projects further along... especially the Red & Black Baby Quilt. The fabric on that one is just too adorable! :)

Stitchnripper 01-09-2011 01:12 PM

Well, now, that's a lot of very nice stuff!!! Start posting pictures when you are done!

Texasjunebug 01-09-2011 01:13 PM

Are you an artist in other mediums? Don't think (in my limited experience) I've ever seen such a variety of colors and themes! When I look at my stash, it's easy to identify specific themes. Oh well, just found that interesting!

lpsewing 01-09-2011 01:17 PM

Welcome to the endless world of fabric stashes !
It is "sew" much fun !!

paintedquilt 01-09-2011 01:22 PM

I know how you feel. I have 22 kits plus oddles of fabric. Help

jetnica 01-09-2011 01:28 PM

okay I'm done posting pictures of WIPs/PPs now.

some answers:
sunflower126 & bluteddi: now i'm done uploading -- it's somewhere in the neighborhood of 75 projects.

fleurdelisquilts.com: some of these have a timeline -- that's probably how I'll go about them. right now i'm working on a quilt that's not even pictured (!) and then I have a christmas gift I need to make, then some baby shower gifts, a wedding gift... once the deadline ones are done i'll probably work on a turtle one to make myself happy!

texasjunebug: I am (was?) a scrapbooker, but I got a few years behind, got overwhelemed, and sorta took a break. I think my plan is to get some of these quilting projects finished up and delivered to their new homes, and move my scrapbooking stuff in to the space as well - and work on getting caught up there next.

Wow, you're very organized now! You have some beautiful fabric. I especially love the snowman blocks. The pattern for the Halloween table runner, is that a cathedral window pattern?

bev195000 01-09-2011 01:38 PM

it's a cheater cathedral window pattern -- it's called abundantly blessed.

You sew squares together, then you sew the oval pieces on top - which acts as the quilting too. Here's a couple of finished projects using that pattern:

LucyInTheSky 01-09-2011 01:43 PM

I'm just glad I'm not the only one!

justflyingin 01-09-2011 01:43 PM

Well, I don't really define it as a WIP if you haven't started it yet. They are just "planned quilts/projects". There weren't THAT many WIPs if you use my definition.

But I think you should quit your job (if you have one) and sew, sew, sew. You definitely have a lot planned!

I'm not sure how expensive they are -- that one was a gift from my angelee for 2010 -- a very nice gift!! =)

Mmm, I like your taste in fabric. :D

Your WIPS would last me several years, lol! Have fun, and do keep posting pics as you go along... I stopped buying fabric on spec last fall and it's dong wonders for my creative spirit.

lol -- true. you can see that most of them are planned projects (PP) I think I only have 3 WIPs pictured.

I can't quit my job -- lol -- I need the money to support my quilty habit! =)

Chele 01-09-2011 01:57 PM

Maribeth 01-09-2011 02:58 PM

Good thinking, I need to take some photos.

thequilterslink 01-09-2011 03:26 PM

LOL, looks like home sweet home. I counted my WIPs about 4 years ago, that is not gonna happen again.. You have some great projects started and some very pretty fabrics.

kwiltkrazy 01-09-2011 03:26 PM

Not feeling guilty in the least, now. I have a lot of wips and ufos but not as much as you. But, I am taking a hiatus on new projects, excepts for bee block swap and Doll quilt swaps. You wouldn't want my creative brain to get too rusty, would you. LOL.

Have a lot of fun Jentica.

annieshane 01-09-2011 03:34 PM

This is without a double the most WIP/PP I have ever seen with one quilter. Is it time to call for intervention? No kidding aside, the projects and fabrics are beautiful. At least you are THAT organized. Now...when are you going to get all of these completed? You need to take 6 months off work and lock yourself in your sewing room. Do share the results of your visit with your insurance rep. I had never thought of the fabrics, inventories, etc. just the machines.

c joyce 01-09-2011 03:39 PM

Please give me advance notice of when you post in the for sale/trade category. WOW and this does not include regular "stash"! I showed my husband the pictures to make me look good LOL...great collection of stuff to make-you shop well.
