Hi everyone! Here's another OBW I just finished. I call it 'Fanning the Flames' because it reminds me of fire plus it amuses me to think up names for these! Doesn't take much...

I'm also posting a picture of the original fabric. For OBW fans who like to know the details - the repeat was 12", I used a single repeat and cut the strips at 3 3/4" wide and the finished quilt is 44" x 42". I wanted something fairly small to practice FMQ. Thank you for looking. :-D

Very nice! You are da queen of OBW's. How's the new baby doing?

k3n 03-04-2010 01:08 AM

The new baby is wonderful! Keeps me busy all day but let's me sleep nights!

Stummel 03-04-2010 01:52 AM

I love it! Great colours also! May I just ask what OBW stands for? Another newbie question...

rootyr 03-04-2010 02:41 AM

k3n 03-04-2010 03:11 AM

Thanks everyone! Stummel, check out the Virtual Section here on the board to see more about OBWs - there's a link highlighted in blue at the bottom left of the page. Always glad to recruit more victims to the OBW obsession! LOL

Yes we are! A friend of ours says we are made for each other. His favorite veggie is peas and mine is carrots. Peas and carrots just go together...get it? lol

barnbum 03-04-2010 03:49 AM

Oh that's beautiful. I don't even want to know how you gals make these quilts--I just want to keep seeing them.

I like the name. I get naming them.

Thanks Karla! Our quilts are our 'babies' right? We HAVE to name 'em! :-D

Mine is carrots too! When I was little, if there weren't any on my plate, I'd scowl and say to my Mum 'no orange?!' I thought a plate looked plain boring without some carrots on there! We nearly always have carrots plus a greeny cos it's good for us!

tlrnhi 03-04-2010 04:20 AM

I'm thinking we all need to go to Karla's house, hug on some horses and learn OBW. When do you think you can get a flight, K???

LovingIzabella 03-04-2010 04:31 AM

Another absolutely beautiful and stunning OBW-great job I love it!
hugs
April
(who is thinking her OBW will look no where near as good :-( )

knlsmith 03-04-2010 04:33 AM

Wow! That is gorgeous!

I can't wait to start mine. Seeing everyone else's makes me wish I had more time. Hopefully start this weekend.

bailey 03-04-2010 05:58 AM

Another gorgeous quilt! Love it and great name. Enjoy your new machine.

beachlady 03-04-2010 06:12 AM

K- another gorgeous quilt!! You need to come to the states and give us lessons or at least a kick in the butt to make one. Afraid to start!

sandpat 03-04-2010 06:16 AM

Oh crap....now I'm drooling over another one!!! K, I just love how your "whip" these out! I'm just plain ole' Congrats on your new baby too....I saw where you got him/her??? , but I don't think I told you I was excited for you.

Thanks for sharing the fabric info on this one...I might just have to find some fab...you know so I can stick it in my stash and pet it telling it that "someday" it will grow up to be a OBW....

Esqmommy 03-04-2010 06:28 AM

shaverg 03-04-2010 07:03 AM

jewelps 03-04-2010 07:05 AM

very pretty

fireworkslover 03-04-2010 07:19 AM

Ooooh! So pretty. I love it. I like how you repeated the original leaf shape in your border. At least that's what it looks like to me. Awesome OBW. Congrats!

That's them feathers again - guess I really am 'hooked'! I thought they might be like licking flames, to follow the name of the quilt but then maybe I'm being fanciful... leaves are good too! :-D

Patti - she's a she - Hans might get jealous if it was a 'he' the amount of time I'm spending! No name yet though, hmmm have to come up with one!

Thanks everyone - if you ever get sick of me posting these, you WILL all let me know, won't you? Warning - there are another two draped over the bannisters waiting to be quilted! 8-)

I'll never ever be sick of seeing the absolutely gorgeous OBW's, every one different and every one amazing.

billswife99 03-04-2010 08:07 AM

Oh I love this one! And the name too, I have to name all mine too. I thought I was weird at first but I see more of us doing it. ;) You know it looks like there is enough interest for Cutie to start another quilt along......

k3n 03-04-2010 08:09 AM

Oh yes, Cutie has done a great job in recruiting more victims to the OBW cause!!!
