This past weekend I finished up a big project I was working on so I've been putting my blocks together the past couple days. I have 6 down, 6 to go. I'll post pics when I get them downloaded.

URG!!!!! bad picture and a broken toe.....I missed that, I'm glad you let me know. How does that happen I looked at this thing several time and I did not notice. I was so happy that most of the points worked out and it was the correct finished size.

I will fix it and hopefully get a better picture

bebe, just wanted to let you know I will be gone for the next nine days or so. I didn't want you to think I dropped out. I am finishing up the quilt for my family reunion & will start on my blocks when I return.
I added borders & photos of my grandmother & grandfather to a quilt top my grandmother pieced before she died (not that she pieced any after death of course!) and quilted it. We are going to raffle it off at the family reunion. Everyone is going to sign the border. I think it would be a nice quilt to have.
I have several tops she pieced & now I'm inspired to get them quilted.
The list never ends!

Sorry everyone. The "deadline" I meant was the monthly deadline for our two blocks per month. I've got three done and will have the fourth done before 9/15.

I can only sew on Saturdays. My time is really limited. Much as I wish I could say it, I am not able to "whip out" blocks no matter how simple they are. I am slow. I take my time. And if I get it right the first time, great. But, if it doesn't turn out right, that sends me in a bit of a quandary because I don't know what I did wrong and have to figure out how to fix it. But, my mom's always helping me.

Mom's got some really cool autumn fabs that I'd like to use. Fortunately, she's always got scraps of them and I can use the scraps!

But, I'm sorry I'm not able to keep up at the pace most of the others are at. That's discouraging for most people because it seems like you're almost done and I'm holding everything up. But, I'm following the guidelines and doing my two a month.

I hope to have a picture to post for tomorrow!

Ladies September is nearing please check in by Pm or post on the thread. You all are doing a greqat job. Our deadline is next year. Take your time and make the blocks right. Go at your oen pace no hurry. Ineed to start on mine. :shock: :D :wink:

Thanks, Bebe. I feel better. Some of us are working at a slower pace and it is important to take our time and do a nice job.

I really like to make different blocks. If I didn't join this group, I wouldn't have occasion to make any of these blocks and the practical experience is good.

And speaking of nice jobs, Celettakay, your blocks are fabulous. I'm especially impressed with the perfect pinwheel job you did. You're in a different group and you're making different blocks. They're all very nice.

I was busy the day before the hurricane hit. During the hurricane I had to shut everything down but at least I got these done. Hope you ladies like your blocks.

They look great! Don't feel bad...I struggled w/ Grandmother's Cross too. I took mine apart and remeasured everything--reassembled it, and it came out right-- :shock: quilting gods at work?? :lol:

Well, I've missed seeing this thread for several days..maybe weeks..anyway, all the new blocks look great! I've been playing with TP and such :oops: and not doing what I should be doing. I only have a couple more blocks to do though...maybe next week :lol:

I took it apart three or four times.

The first time, I didn't assemble it right and got two blues stuck together.

So, I ripped it out.

Then I'm not consistent with my "scant" quarter inch seam. The second attempt measured 13 inches. Then I decided I'd just make a pillow out of it and start over.

Mom took it apart and I sewed it up again. I did better the third time. Got it to 12 3/4 inches. I ripped it out again and the fourth time was the charm, though I'm not happy with one of the corner pieces. It measures 12.5".

I may rip it apart again and try a new corner piece.

I've been looking over a lot of the other blocks I need to do yet and all but one of them require half square triangles.

I'm getting to where I'm like, if I can't paper piece or Thangle it, I don't want to do it.

I'm sorry my block was such a hassle. I thought it would be easier since there were not many triangles but I quess I was wrong.
