Great idea. We quilters are such a creative bunch!

Alyce, could you elaborate about the differences of how they work? I have been considering an oven mat because of seeing it n myGroupon feed for $8.99 Thanks for any info.

the flying carpet sled is much bigger. Mine is very slippery at least for me. I cut a hole for the needle. I use a little tape to keep it secure. I found the slider too small and flimsy and it seemed to get stiuck in my stitching even with tape. The oven liners I found were way too thin and took a lot to keep them secured down whuch meant I had to remove to change the bobbin. I wasted a lot on the real thing and cheap replacements. I also had a big piece of vinyl from Walmart but that was very cumbersome to use. The sled doesn't smell to me and is flat and works for me. If folks are happy with their sliders and oven mats that is great.

I'm happy that you posted this info, I've been wondering how those sleds worked! I've actually had one in my Amazon cart since I watched the video LOL. :)

Someone on this board was using a teflon oven liner as a substitute for the super slider and I've been using that, with some degree of success. This looks like a great idea too, and it's bigger, which would be better for a larger quilt! Great share!

wonderful Idea. I have the small supreme slider. Can anyone tell me the price range of the flying carpet sleds?

Can things get too slippery? I have a newly refinished treadle. When I have a large piece to work with, it is hard to keep it on the surface. It keeps sliding off. That's not fun either. I need to put a chair or something behind my machine to catch the surplus.
