I love your quilt. I would Echo if it were me. Are you handquilting or machine quilting?

Sewhappygal 12-14-2011 04:33 AM

This is like eye candy. So nice. Wish it was mine. : )

catladyquilts 12-14-2011 04:34 AM

that is gorgeous, love it, the border is great

bamamama 12-14-2011 04:41 AM

I have that one on my list to do. Love your very colorful version. Your border is really nice. What about outlining the daiseys and then doing a "ghost" daisy in the centers of the blocks with a background fill all around. Maybe a little detail on the flowers and leaves. The border is so pretty. What about putting a daisey motif in the center of the X's on the border and a leafy vine going around the X's like a flowering trellis. It is such a happy quilt....thus the name "Happy Daisey" if I recall correctly. Post pics when finished please!

Babs194068 12-14-2011 04:43 AM

I love this pattern. Wonderful quilt

sewmom 12-14-2011 04:53 AM

Outstanding! Love the border too. I, too, think trying to decide how to quilt it is hard. What comes to mind is SITD(sorry) I would outline the flowers and the x's in the border. Then a stipple or soft fill between the flowers. I think an all over might detract from the daisies. Hopefully you will get some great ideas from the board. Be sure to post pics when you're finished.

Mariposa 12-14-2011 05:52 AM

This is beautiful! I like the extra (2nd) piece of darker fabric on some of the flowers-adds dimension! Lovely border too!

quiltingcousin 12-14-2011 05:52 AM

What a beautiful quilt, lovely colors. Any quilting you choose would on enhance the beauty..

coldquilter 12-14-2011 06:43 AM

I love the border on that. The whole quilt is great but the border is really special. Nice job.

suesofine 12-14-2011 06:48 AM

Thank you for all the compliments and I love all the suggestions. I have a couple of extra blocks that I didn't use so I think I'll sandwich them and do some practice work and see what looks best. The shadow part on the pedel is a smaller pedel in a lighter color. The fabric I used was fossil fern.

littlesurfer 12-14-2011 07:00 AM

Love the colors, love the border...beautiful! I would outline the flowers and do a meandering stitch on the rest. Please post a pic when finished!

Motorcyclemad 12-14-2011 07:02 AM

Sorry, I have no suggestions for quilting but it is especially pretty! And I don't usually take a shine to flowers.

Tweety2911 12-14-2011 07:07 AM

I love this pattern and haven't had time to make it yet. You did a great job, love the border. Look through the archives for ones already completed to get some good ideas.

lovingmama 12-14-2011 07:09 AM

I would echo the flowers and may be stipple in between.

huntannette 12-14-2011 07:10 AM

ohh i love it!!

suesofine 12-14-2011 07:15 AM

Thank you, it means alot when quilters give suggestions and compliments you on work you've done. I've pieced quilts for several years but I'm still not sure of myself when it come to the quilting. I'm always scared I'll ruin the quilt I've worked so hard in piecing together.

ladysuds 12-14-2011 07:25 AM

That is so beautiful! What a great job! Can you tell me the pattern name? So cool

gramarraine 12-14-2011 07:28 AM

Love your quilt. It's on my bucket list.

Granny Quilter 12-14-2011 07:31 AM

Oh, I love it! I would hand quilt 1/4 in. from all the seams.

Zephyr 12-14-2011 07:46 AM

I've always liked that pattern and your colorful border really sets it off. So nice.

suesofine 12-14-2011 07:48 AM

The quilt is call Happy Daisy, a quilter here that goes by KathyAire sent me the daisy pattern. Thank you KathyAire for sending. The border was paper pieced with the different colors I used for the pedels.

Jingle 12-14-2011 07:55 AM

Beautiful and bright, great color choices. I usually always FMQ my quilts with a large meander.

Beautiful I love it

RonieM 12-14-2011 08:09 AM

I Love your quilt. It is so pretty. I'm not sure about the quilting, but maybe just simple stippling around the flowers.

4EVERquilt 12-14-2011 08:09 AM

maybe a flower design. It's a beautiful quilt

Bonbonary 12-14-2011 08:26 AM

Beatiful quilt. I agree that doing an echo around the flowers would be a good idea.

lauriequilts 12-14-2011 08:28 AM

Beautiful. I love the border. I would do a simple meandering to make the flowers "pop".

Sierra 12-14-2011 08:34 AM

Please don't stipple over all those beautiful flowers!!! Echo them, maybe more than once, inside perhaps also as well as outside the petals. Stay with the theme (not with current trend). I think the idea of a small flower motif on the border sounds nice. You might try laying threads (background and petal colors and.....?) around the flowers and see what looks best before trying it out in reality. It is a beautiful quilt and it deserves to have it's integrity intack. So, that's my opinion.

Kitsie 12-14-2011 08:40 AM

Your fabric choices are wonderful! Looks like spring! Congrats!
