I would either stitch around the flowers or just do meander all over so it would note take away from the beautiful quilt

sewmorethings 12-15-2011 05:33 AM

Can't help with the quilting, just wanted to say your quilt is beautiful

Shirls4sons 12-15-2011 05:37 AM

I would stitch around the flowers, also. It is so cute and pretty!

You didn't indicate what size the blocks are, but if the flowers are big enough, I would out line them then do a small free motion in the rest of the block. Depending on the batting you are going to use, in my opinion, those beautiful flowers would really bloom.

This quilt is beautiful, love the colors. The flowers just pop. I would stipple around the flowers and I think the border will speak to you at that point. Thanks for sharing.

callen 12-15-2011 06:37 AM

Absolutely stunning quilt. The border really sets it apart. I guess you have to decide if you want to admire the quilt or the quilting.

nannya54 12-15-2011 06:48 AM

Love the colors. I have this pattern. I think I may start a spring quilt in January using it. It turned out beautiful.

purplefiend 12-15-2011 10:23 AM

I love bright colors too!
The border reminds me of a garden trellis. Well done indeed!!!

What a happy quilt - sorry, I don't have an idea for you as to how to quilt it - I always sit down and scan through pics here on the site to get ideas, then still am stumped!

morelcabin 12-15-2011 04:28 PM

Love Love Love it! I would definitely outline the flowers with the quilting and then maybe swirls and leaves for the rest.

Iraxy 12-15-2011 04:31 PM

delideb64 12-15-2011 04:40 PM

Echo echo echo.......... is what came to my mind :)

josi49 12-15-2011 04:59 PM

I love, love, love this quilt! You did an awesome job with the colors .... just looking at it makes me smile and feel happy! As for quilting, if I were doing it I would either double or triple echo around each flower & stem and fill in between with either feathers or some loose McTavishing. As for the borders, perhaps vines with flowers and leaves? No matter how YOU quilt it, this quilt is absolutely awesome. Congrats on a job well done.

I agree I think echoing would really be pretty and make the flower stand out even more. Your quilt top is beautiful. You did a wonderful job.

cherylmae 12-15-2011 06:07 PM

Wow, that is pretty, I'd say echo quilt or small quilting around to really make the flower pop. Good job!

Aubrey'sQuiltingCreations 12-15-2011 07:37 PM

I would do light detail work on each flower petals and either echoing or swirl between the flowers maybe even toss in a little bumble bee now and then.
