Dolphyngyrl 07-14-2011 04:43 PM

I have always wanted to make one, they just seem fluffier than other quilts, real cuddley, and soft

I love rag quilts but here in Florida there isn't much need for them but I've made them for family up north. They are so cozy. I had to repair my grand daughters, she has loved it to disrepair

I agree!

Every time I have made and given a rag quilt, it has been grabbed right up!! Of course they are real quilts!!! Fun, and if I make a booboo no one seems to care. They love them better than "fancy" quilts because they are more useable, and more washer friendly. Kids especially love them.I make them as lap quilts, but my adult grandson requested one for his queen size bed. (whew) He got it.
Love all your quilts. Keep up the good work. :)

hpylady 07-14-2011 07:41 PM

They are beautiful! Nice work! Haven't ever made one, but plan to do so in the future!

Pieceful Quilter 07-14-2011 08:22 PM

I love them all. I'm not sure why you think they are not real!?! I still have rag quilt on my bucket list - operative words here - rag QUILT.

alikat110 07-15-2011 02:47 AM

Love them!!!!

charlie 1940 07-15-2011 04:27 AM

Just beautiful! And remember, what you make with your own hands is a reflection of the beauty within yourself. Keep letting it out and sharing.

Ditto

I started quilting on rag quilts and yes, Virginia, they are REAL quilts. Yours are awesome. Never be afraid to show your work. I'm not a great quilter and could never make some of the complicated ones I've seen here, so I just stick to real easy ones and you know what? Everyone I give one too just loves it. Gives me great comfort and pleasure to make them, fancy or not.

yesyoucan 07-15-2011 04:08 PM

top + middle + bottom = quilt

connie d 07-16-2011 09:01 PM

quilt-fanatic 07-17-2011 01:36 AM

Hey, if you cut them and sewed them, they are a QUILT!

Alaska 07-17-2011 11:22 AM

I would be honored to own one of your rag quilts!

fred singer 07-17-2011 11:41 AM

lynn7448 07-17-2011 01:34 PM

The seams on the third quilt appear to be so much fuller than the other small quilts. Why do you think that is? This is the look that I want for my DGD rag quilt I plan to make her for Christmas.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE THESE! ESPECIALLY THE PATRIOTS ONE!! My oldest son would just have a FIT over the Patriots one!!!! These are quilts in my book! I actually just bought some flannel to make my first one myself. :)

Yours are lovely. Don't be afraid to show your projects. The quilt police is not on the board!

I agree! All very nice QUILTS.

Personally I live to annoy the crap out of the quilt police....reason why I'll never be a traditional or contemporary quilter.

Rag quilt or whatever you want to create is a quilt period.

delma_paulk 07-18-2011 03:37 PM

They look like real quilts to me! Like 'em!

carolynbb 07-18-2011 03:40 PM

I think ALL of them are wonderful. I like rag quilts! So comfy and inviting looking.

Glassquilt 07-19-2011 05:29 PM

I think they get loved more because the recipients feel they don't have to be careful. Twice I've heard "Oh, this is too good to use." If I didn't want it to be used I wouldn't have made it.

Passionate Quilter 07-19-2011 10:28 PM

You learned well, your quilts are lovely. Thank you for sharing.

gonzales_pat 07-26-2011 03:10 AM

nice job I love rag quilts

29cathie 11-01-2011 05:25 AM

Your quilts are great. You sure must have a lot of patience to sit and snip and snip all those edges. Keep up the good work.
