Isn't this interesting? I have been buying this for my DH's Aunts. I just had to go get them 4 more jars. They love the stuff. I had never heard of it before. So far they have gone through about 10 jars in the last year.

i don't like it pickled or boiled, but just love love it breaded in cornmeal and fried with some onion. this is a favorite side dish in Texas.

I had some in a restaurant a long time ago, and loved it so much that I asked for the recipe, they gave it to me and I had a friend help me with it. They turned out pretty good, but canning is a whole lot like cooking!! LOL That was my 1st and last time I did any canning. I love fried okra.

Ladies I came home today to a wonderful box full of goodies.My Dear Angel has done it again----She went overboard. She sent 3 yds of cat fabrics,2 great patterns,a pkg of 10" canning jar fabrics ( 26), also a matching set of 5" ones,a magnetic pin holder,a pair of nippers,hangers, and the cutest little Angel pin and Dragon Fly plant hanger.OMG---I LOVE IT ALL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I want to thank my Angel for a very nice note in a card. Don't worry, you have been so generous to me. A card if fine, although I do like pressies! Hope things smooth out for you. I know how life can get in the way of having fun here.

THANK YOU - THANK YOU to my Secret Quilt Angel!! :D In today's mail, Friday Sept. the 10th, I received another one of her fabulous hand made cards with a nice note. She also sent me a neat pattern for another Table Runner!! Maybe I will use this pattern, when I make my next one!! :D What fun!! I am sorry that I can't post a picture, as my camera went to camera heaven yesterday. Now I have to wait until I can buy a new one. Hopefully it won't be to long. Angel, you have been so thoughtful to me & I really appreciate you & your friendship!! I can't wait to finally meet you at the end of the year!! :D

Peach - I laughed so hard when I read what you wrote about Pete, tears ran down my legs!!!!

Leota - I love, love, love picked okra. I agree about the store bought not tasting as good as home made. I love fried okra, whole okra baked around meat loaf, whole okra dropped in and cooked with blackeyed or purple hull peas (when they are almost done) and steamed whole okra. I just love okra!!!! I also love pickled beets, yellow squash pickles and the mixed pickled vegetables. Both my daughters will just sit and eat pickled beets right out of the jar, not just with meals. I could never buy enough fast enough.

Man - everyone has been getting such beautiful and thoughtful gifts. Some of our Angels are really talented. I also have not heard from my Angel in awhile but know she cares cause I get a great box every 2-3 months.

Oh....did I tell all you great folks I am going to be a grandma again? Grandson due Nov 11 by youngest daughter and another grandbaby by other daughter middle of Feb. Don't know yet if it is boy or girl but been sewing like crazy. I am still making baby quilts for new babies born at Church and our Church is called "New Life Church" and believe you me, we give meaning to that name!!! lol

I know I've been here a few months, now. I have a confusion. Are there two avenues of secret quilt angels? like one permanent for the year then one month by month......am I straight with that thought?

Mrs. Pete....yes, first we started a year long SQA where some of us commited to do this from Jan thru Dec of this year and in December we are to reveal ourselves to our Angelees. They are also doing a monthly one on the Member Swaps and Trades section. I'm not part of it so not sure how it works.

That one is referred to as Secret Pals -- no Secret Quilt Angels (SQA) as this one is.

We have just headed out for a couple of weeks, so if it arrives while we're away, it will be safely set aside for us with all of our other mountains of mail, patiently waiting for us to return :)

i finished this top this evening. a friend suggested i do the border from the same squares as in the middle of each block and i liked it. now to decide what to bind it with. i'm in favor of the black with the tiny white polka dots. what do yall think? or should I do the green in the sashing and first border? decisions, decisions. i have 2 more embroidery thingies to do.

Yep! I got yet another package from this sweet person today...with a beautiful Fall Angel, a kickin' mini quilt kit, and the cutest tea towel with a pumpkin pie recipe on it! I just think everything is wonderful, and so, My Angel, are YOU!! Thank you so VERY MUCH!! :)

To all of sewnsewer2's proxy Angels. She has been given another permenant replacement Angel.

I have one more replacement to make. I have removed all of the "fallen Angel's" that I know about. There have been some really hurt feelings over this exchange. I ask that you do not get on here and complain about not receiving anything for X amount of time. You do not know your Angels circumstance and complaining here may add salt to the already wounded Angel. If you have issues please work them out with me and not on here. There are some very thoughtful and generous people associated with this exchange and I have received so many kind hearts ready to send to someone that feels slighted. Thank you for that, but that may also cause a problem. If you feel sorry for someone for any reason please contact that person directly to exchange contact information. I will no longer forward anyones information to anyone that is not their assigned Angel. The variety of "weird happenings" with this exchange has been unbelievable. I could write a book. In any case I will do what I need to to protect all Angel's feelings.

Now with regards to the "reveal". I have not chosen a date as of yet. I will not be disclosing your Angel's name to you prior to the reveal. I will not disclose that information at all. If you want to PM your Angelee to "out yourself" I will say you can do that as of December 1st. If your Angel does not reveal herself to you please do not ask me for this information, so it is possible that you may never know who your Angel is. I have tried to make this as fun as possible but so many things have gone array, I am sorry for that.

yes Kwhite, i am sorry that this exchange didn't go as planned or as expected. i think that the thought behind it was very good but...i suppose life gets in the way of most people. you did an awesome job though and i thank you for all your help and the way that you organized this for all of us.

Kwhite. I have one of the best angels that you could get on here. This has been the most fun, I will honor your asking to wait until Dec to reveal. But I hope that I will be friends with both my angel Francis and my angelee for a long time. Francis I received my package. Will wait to open then post pictures.
