I can remember my son getting a choclate orange in grade school for a gift. He is now 45., so ny has had them a long time. They have several flavors now days :thumbup:

I got a box in the mail from my Secret Angel. It evidently came on Christmas Eve but due to the death in our family and funeral, house guests, tons of family and friends in from all over, etc....did not check my mail box til Sunday afternoon after the last of them left. I was so thrilled. I got a Xmas card, beautiful silver book mark with angel on it in a emerald green stained glass gown, bundle of fabrics with pattern too and a Days of Tips & Inspiration for
quilters calendar for 2010. Love, love, love it all. Thank you angel who ever you are. Definitely cheered me up which nothing has since the 22nd, day my great nephew passed away unexpectedly. Love you all and a belated Merry Christmas. Sandy

Boy my SQA is really busy sending very nice cards. Got another one for our anniversary. We celebrated our 52nd quietly with a New York steak dinner, sexy mushrooms and fancy backed potato at home and DH put some romantic music on the XM radio and I lite a candle for the dinner table and turned the lights out. DH didn't know I had a candle going since he cannot see and used to have a little fit if I turned off the lights and lite candles when he could see a little bit. Guess I can make lemonaide every once in a while. LOL. I really get by a lot, I will be in a real bad way if he ever regains his sight, if ever he saw my sewing room. OH MY!!!! I really have to get it organized again. I am waiting to do it some day when he goes some place with one of his buddies hopefully for several days and leave me a car so I can disperse some of the room's contents.
Anyway thanks SQA who ever you are, I really appreciate the cards.

i read somewhere that you "love to hand quilt pre-printed panels....
i really want to practice some hand quilting and thought this would be more manageable than a quilt...
my question is about the panels
do you use any panels (like with scenes ect. printed in colors) or do you mean the whole cloth quilt panels that are available that have stitching lines printed on them?
my lqs sell a few of these, they are BIG and kind of expensive...
anyway...what do you quilt on?

Actually, I've done both -- the preprinted panels as well as the smaller whole cloth that only shows stitching when you get finished and it's laundered. Both are fun. You can buy the small mini (about 16 1/2" square) wholecloth quilts on line from The Stencil Company -- in fact they're having a SALE right now. And they have excellent service.

There are lots of places on line that sell the preprinted (or cheater) panels. I've bought several from Fabric.com and have been pleased with them and they have excellent service as well.

The cheater panels have taught me how much stitching and where it should go while the wholecloth mini quilts have helped me learn to keep my stitches even and small. Hope this helps :D

There was the prettiest sewing kit with hand stitched designs and a pair of embrodery scissors that I have been wishing for.

She also made a really clever note book that is fastened together with wooden skewers.

There was 3 beautiful fat quarters and a spool of sulky varigated thread. A really fun garden book, In and Out of the Garden by Sara Midda and a bar of Pleasant Moments Glycerin Soap that smells so nice.

I got a wonderful gift today. Thank you so much Angel of mine. My husband told me in the car going to dinner that I had received something. I had to wait all the way through dinner then the grocery store then to a friends house to work on a computer. It almost killed me waiting. And in answer to your question No I will not. Thank you soooo much. These 30's repro fabrics are wonderful. This is the first brown repro fabric that I have ever seen. It is perfect.

I do not have my camera yet BUT, I got a wonderful box today from my Secret Quilt Angel, I got Chocolate, tacky glue pins clips , smelly good soap Lavender, I am going to smell good , a cute straw that will fit in my big cup,And little hands that are buttons, and some avena moisturizer which I need because my skin is so very dry. THANK YOU ,THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH MY QUILT ANGEL, I LOVE IT ALL THE MATERIAL IS BEAUTIFUL AND I LOVE SNOWMEN. THE CARD WAS SPECIAL TOO. GOD bLESS AND HAVE A VERY HAPPY AND HEALTHY NEW YEAR.

I could hardly believe my eyes when I got the mail today. There was still another envelope from SQA. In it was a pretty birthday card with a pressed pansey. Thank you, who ever you are. Pansies are one of my very favorite flowers.

I got another gift from my SQA.....I suspect, I am going to be crying for the next 12 months...nothing like salty tears and smiles at the same time!!!!

It is almost as if my SQA can read minds, I have been thinking about doing something with mainly black, white and red...
And now I have a start....might even surprise myself and have something black, white and red made by the end of next year.
