That is ingenious of you! Good thinking - what size was your "template" and I guess it wasn't necessary to make up a top of squares first??

It does look like the twister. I have made one and it is lots of fun and goes together really fast.

I suppose the size of the template is the measurements of the lenght and width of it? I cut the strips at 4 and 3/4 on the lenght of grain. You then stack up 4 strips, all right sides up, use the micro pen to trace around the template and cut out with the rotary cutter and ruler, turning the strips as needed. I used scraps so the strips weren't that long. If you are using yardage, you can control how long you make the strips. I usually cut a half yard off and cut the stips on the lenght of grain. You do not have to make up a square as you are cutting the exact patch and it goes fast to sew them up....no waste and saved sewing time. |
Very nice. Can't wait to see the finished product

Love your colors and design. Can't get my head around how you cut it out but maybe if I try it I will get it. I think you are putting all the colors on on top of the other and cutting them and then moving the pieces around but I will try it. Yours is so pretty.
