Is this too much pink?

Is this too much pink? Should I put a different border on it? Or maybe no border? What do you think?

frogella 07-22-2012 05:15 AM

No, it is absolutely stunning!

cheaha39 07-22-2012 05:16 AM

Lovely quilt, can't wait to see it finished. I love pink and would add a narrow 1" border of blue or green and then a wide 4" border of dark dark pink. Any border you use will only make it a standout quilt.

nellybelle 07-22-2012 05:17 AM

no, don't put a pink border on. Looks really good.

nygal 07-22-2012 05:18 AM

I would choose one of the darker colors in the quilt and make a border with that and it would show up more and be a nice "frame" for the whole quilt. It's very pretty!

Alexkebir 07-22-2012 05:19 AM

I love it. I think a dark border would be perfect.

liont 07-22-2012 05:25 AM

So, so vintage looking. I see vintage quilts like this on ebay, many using feedsacks! You have a great one going!
Yeap, agree with the rest, either no border or a darker border.

kathdavis 07-22-2012 05:39 AM

A small border of navy and then back to the pink. The navy will make it pop. That quilt is stunning.

quiltforfun 07-22-2012 05:41 AM

Dark border... Should make the light colors pop...

XYZ123 07-22-2012 05:44 AM

One can never have enough pink and it is beautiful as is.

Diane007 07-22-2012 05:50 AM

No.... I like pink

Kttyhwk4 07-22-2012 05:52 AM

Your quilt is lovely but I think a navy border or binding will make it pop.

Scraps 07-22-2012 05:58 AM

Love your quilt - very pretty! Our favorite LQS owner is a designer of fabric/patterns, etc. and is in all the magazines. She taught that a 1/4 " trim of a "pop" color before the border makes for a beautiful finish. One of my friends has been doing that on all her quilts and they are stunning. Just a thought ===

Love the quilt, dark border might be nice to make it pop....Be sure to post the finised piece if you decide to border it.......would love to see how it turned out.

quilter41 07-22-2012 06:17 AM

Yes a little to much for me.

mighty 07-22-2012 06:29 AM

I love it!!!!!!

DebbE 07-22-2012 06:37 AM

All I can say is "WOW!!". Absolutely stunning. If the quilt size is what you want, I'd just do the darker border & binding (I like the navy idea). If you need it just a little bit bigger, I'd do a 3" navy border, followed by a 2" strip that alternates various colors in the quilt (those would be 2" long each) and finish up with another 3" navy border with binding in navy. It would just nicely frame all the gorgeous blocks. How are you planning to quilt it?

I'm with cheaha. I love it!! Can't have too much pink IMHO.

Neesie 07-22-2012 06:47 AM

Since the pink is broken up by other colors, it's not at all "too much!" Beautiful! I think any color border would be lovely.

Gilly 07-22-2012 06:57 AM

i love the pink!

oma66 07-22-2012 07:04 AM

A light narrow border and a wider dark border to "frame" your stunning work of art would look wonderful.

catmcclure 07-22-2012 07:21 AM

Not for my granddaughter. There's nothing that's too much pink for her. She can't be the only one. I also love the quilt. Maybe GD takes after GM

patsynel 07-22-2012 07:23 AM

You have been given alot of good ideas, no matter which one you chose the quilt will be awesome.

annt59 07-22-2012 07:24 AM

I bit for a navy frame. Lovely!

I agree with a different color, then dark pink to set it off.

kittykatz2001 07-22-2012 07:31 AM

I would not put a border and bind it in a darker color. It's very pretty.

Tweety2911 07-22-2012 07:33 AM

The white border softens the pink and perhaps a darker color to bind the quilt to add a little more contrast. Your quilt is so awesome, just love it to bits!!!! Whatever you decide, it will be perfect!

QUILTNMO 07-22-2012 07:33 AM

oh no its beautiful!!!!

terri bb 07-22-2012 07:40 AM

you never cease to amaze me with the handsewing pics i see of your beautiful quilts. such labor! i think it needs a border to let your eyes rest and draw out the individuality of the quilt. if the cream is already sewn on, i would finish it with a darker color. if its just basted to see what you think, i would put a small 1.5 inch border in a darker color and then a lighter larger outer border, the pink would be good. either way, it is absolutely beautiful! you have such a talent!! can't wait to see what you can do with your LA!

jojosnana 07-22-2012 07:59 AM

It is a great work of art.

fred singer 07-22-2012 08:03 AM

a darker boarder , a very lovely quilt

wildwoodflower12390 07-22-2012 08:05 AM

Just beautiful!

woodyandjake 07-22-2012 08:16 AM

I think it's a whole lotta work, I love it.

QuiltnNan 07-22-2012 08:38 AM

no, not too much pink. I'd just bind it. It's beautiful.

lollygagging 07-22-2012 01:07 PM

What a great scrappy! I love those many fabrics. I agree that a dark border with a medium binding will make the entire piece glow! Please be sure to show us your finished project. Thanks for sharing.

sewgray 07-22-2012 01:46 PM

Never too much pink for me, it's beautiful.

alfosa421 07-22-2012 01:47 PM

If you border in pink, I would go darker so that the light pink inside is contained and doesn't seem like it's coming off the sides(not too much darker, just a medium value) Its a great quilt

Peggy Jeanne 07-22-2012 01:48 PM

It is wonderful!

barny 07-22-2012 01:51 PM

It is definitely not too much pink. I love it.

mom-6 07-22-2012 01:55 PM

Truly beautiful! Pink is not always a favorite of mine, but that is lovely!

I don't really think it needs a border, but would use a darker (maybe medium) pink for the binding.

If you do decide on adding a border, a narrow dark strip then a wider medium pink (possibly a print that picks up the colors of the other fabrics used) would be my choice.
