I'd do a little rearranging if it were me but I really like the fabrics in the quilt. I never did scrappy till about two years ago and now I love it. I never put more than three or four different fabrics in a quilt unless it was an applique now I am constantly on the look out for fat quarters and get prints I'd never have bought just to have more of a certain color. Even with that being said there is some scrappy that is not my taste, yours, however is very nice and if it were mine I'd do some twisting of the blocks till it feels right for you.

Please keep going....a dark border around it when you are finished may help pull it all together and be really stunning.

IMHO I think this will be beautiful when finished. :)

I agree with Dawn Marie.

Try doing a few more blocks - maybe add a few fabrics with more contrast. Don't give up on it yet.

I love it. Just keep going. Really beautiful.

Oh - keep going if you can bear it. I relly like the effect too. Consider it a learning project. Remember the more scrappy the better. If something doesn't look right adda little more and se if it works then.

I love scrappy quilts so this one isn't busy to me at all. It's beautiful and cheerful. However, try different layouts and you might like it better. I know it's hard to finish a quilt you don't like, but imagine your relief when you put that last stitch in it and you'll have a lovely gift for someone.

You can't stop!!! It is lovely. Do it for us!:-)

Continue working on it, I like it a lot but I do like scrappy. It will be a lovely quilt

Maybe you need to step away from it for awhile and then go back to it. It will turn out nice, you wait and see.

Another way to look at it is how much joy it can bring to somone. It would make a lovely lap quilt for a shut-in. If you definitely decide to scrap the project, send it to me. I'll finish it up for a charity.

You could give it to me and I'll finish it-- I love the colors and the design. The white keeps it from being too busy.

I am doing one just like it. Though I am putting sashing around each block to separate the "V"s out. Mine is being done in reds and pinks with whites, greens, browns with pink or red in them. Really pretty as I post them up on the design wall. The sashing will be white, I think.

I am like you that I find it very hard to use scraps but since I have a whole pile of strips cut now I plan to just sew them for charity quilts.

So I thought I'd make this, and I don't like it. Is this how it's supposed to look?
I'm about ready to scrap this one too!

I really like what you have started there. I find when working on a quilt top I don't like, to reserve judgement until after it's quilted. It's amazing what quilting it will do for it. ~Shirley

I like it, keep going with it.

I love it. Walk away for a day or so and then take another look.

Annz 02-13-2011 09:57 AM

Don't give up. It looks great and will look even better when finished.
