I am experimenting with the "Twister" tool. The after result looks very different from the before. Preety neat little tool although there is some fabric wasteage. I am wondering how I should quilt these.

This was made from a tool called "Twister by CS Designs" . It comes in two sizes for use with 5 inch or 10 inch blocks. You sew the blocks together and then cut out squares using this tool. It creates a pinwheel effect. Others on this board have done them. Search "twister" and you will see some very nice examples.

It is so cool - the second design looks like a wreath - oooo the possibilities. Where did you discover the twister and let us know more please.

magpie 11-06-2010 04:30 AM

Very pretty.

BMP 11-06-2010 04:32 AM

LOVE them, I want to know more !!!

gollytwo 11-06-2010 04:54 AM

Terrific results
I've had both Twisters for a long time
Never used
You've inspired me
Thanks

I'd quilt the inner border on the outside, around the outer edge of the pinwheels and around the outer edge of the white pinwheels.
I can't tell the size, but if necessary, I'd put a design in the center of the white space.

SueDor 11-06-2010 04:58 AM

Very nice!

What a cool way to use the tool. My avatar was my first and I've got a top put together using the 10" blocks. Very fun!

Can you show what the tool looks like? I googled but didn't see a picture. Was this a specific pattern you got to make with the tool?

AngieS 11-06-2010 09:51 AM

I actually just bought the twister yesterday. I had originally bought the large one but took it back today and traded it for the small one. I have 5 charm packs and want to use those up before buying a bunch more fabric. :-)

AngieS 11-06-2010 09:52 AM

Meant to tell you that all three pictures are very pretty. :-)

wvdek 11-06-2010 11:47 AM

Whoa, that is wild.

quilter2 11-06-2010 06:39 PM

The Twister tool is great, I have both. I made the Christmas Wreath using the small one. I want to use the one for 10" blocks using 30's fabric for my next quilt.
