UPDATE!! On I Hate This Quilt
 

Ya'll might remember my previous post about the quilt top I hated. Well, I took it all apart, turned the blocks, added more navy, then a red band because I didn't think the two navy's matched. Well, I really like it now. Now, if our new long arm will get here so my dh can quilt it. Yes, he wants to be the one to do the honors, after he practices a bunch :). I agree that the second version is more appealing!

Wow, you went to a lot of work to take the first apart, but your results are astonishing. Beautiful. (I have to admit that I like the first one too though....) But, the second really does look better...

I love the 2nd one too. You must have a lot of patience. But it paid off. My husbands "motto" is never give up.

Wow! What a difference! I like #1, but #2 is really striking.

LOVE your 2nd version. Sorry you had to put all that work into this but I love it now and think it was worth the trouble. It has an all new look doesn't it.

Great save. It is a lot of work to redo something but it saves a lot of money because it is not wasted and it ives a sense of satisfaction to know that you completed a difficult chore-taking it apart. I will be anxious to see how your DH quilts it.

Actually, it didn't take all that long to take it apart. I took it with me and worked on it while my dh was at physical therapy. He has lots of appointments where I have to just sit and wait. Wasn't going to waste the opportunity to make the best use of my time. It's also a great way to start conversations with others in the waiting room.

I like both but I agree with everyone else...the second one is really outstanding.
