Thanks Karla!

I wasn't sure on the color. Orange, she likes orange and I found out that her bridesmaids are wearing orange. Poor girls! lol

Yes, those strips are 1 1/2 inches wide, Wasn't happy about it. Don't like dealing with small pieces.

I thought about doing a ragged flannel for him, but all the flannel that I saw at Ben Franklins was either ugly or too childish.

Oh no......I really don't like log cabin blocks. They take too much out of me. Believe it or not, I started that quilt yesterday. Was up ALL night doing the blocks, then slept a few hours, then back at it. I want to get them all done in 2 days so I can get them all quilted and then in the mail by Friday. That's their wedding day...oh well........lol
It's looking like I will be standing by for a flight starting on Saturday. Won't have time to do much, since most of it will be waiting in the airport, just sitting around. I'm going to have my quilt as you go blocks with me, to give me something to do, but that's about it. Also, a couple good books.

Enjoy.

Nice job on the orange log cabin Terri :D
The log cabin is easier if you use wider strips - I think the one from Quilt in a Day uses 3" or 3.5" strips. What about a Rail Fence for the "HIS" lap quilt? That's usually quick & easy.
Good luck...and have a good flight (in case I forget by Friday!) :D

I thought about a rail fence. Still not sure.
I'll let someone know if/when I catch a flight. It's a military flight that I'll be taking and those can sometimes take days to get.

I love that layout for the log cabin lap quilt. I don't know that I've ever seen that layout...very striking! If you want to do a ragged quilt for him, look at the homespun. I made my son one out of homespuns that really turned out nice. I just made 9" blocks that were the same fabric on both sides. I think I ended up using 16 or 17 different fabrics. I sewed a big freestyle star in the middle of each one to "quilt" it then sewed them together.

Both quilts are wonderful, you have been one busy lady. They will love them, now enjoy you trip and get back to get them finished.

Ok, I bit the bullet and decided I'd do another Log Cabin in the same design so they would match. WHAT WAS I THINKING??
All of it is cut out, now I have to sit and sew it. :( Anyone want to do that for me?

I'm actually on a marathon sewing streak so I can get everything done that I need to get done before I leave again.
Remember the quilt from my daughter that had the sticky rat trap glue on it? I still have to bat and back that one too. I am giving myself until Friday to get it all done. That means...finish the one I'm doing now, then bat, back and tie the log cabin ones. Bat and back my daugthers and quilt that one and I still have 4 totes to get done. UGH!!

I love it Terri and have to agree with you that cutting is the part I like least. You are speedy, too, and they're also getting lap quilts in addition? That's great!
