You are just to hard on yourself. They look great
I give you greetings and say that both are well constructed and pretty. The second one is nicer to the eye and therefore my favorite of the two. The first one appears too opressive. The white counter balance adds the wow factor to the second one. Maybe one for winter and one for summer? Just a thought. Both are really pretty.

hey they both look great u r your own worst critic great job
they look beautiful to me--I've never made one like that. :-D
I think it is beautiful just as is. If you are wanting more of a contrast and get a louder wow factor I might use a solid or a fabric that reads as one color of dark blue. The dark blue you used has a lot or lighter blue in it and it calms down the contrast and lowers the wow factor. Hope I am making sence to you. Try using a ruby red viewer to test your fabric because your preference may be to dramatic quilts. Hope this helps. Gail

They are both beautiful, but I think I like the first one better. You are probably tired of them, having worked with the fabric for so long, but after a while you will look at them and saw WOW too.
Wow look's great to me. I love them. :-D

Looks like a "Wow" to me.

The first one should be named "Kiss" and the second one, "Plus." Both are great work!
Anyone would be proud to own either of your beautiful quilts. We are such harsh judges of our work, there are no quilt police, please repeat 20 times every time you doubt yourself...LOL

Love them both, now tell me again what you see wrong? I don't see anything.....
I love them both, but I really love the first one. I think you did a fantastic job!
I'm not really sure?? What is the problem with these quilts? Love them both!!
I would love to make one but I have trouble getting th blocks lines up to make the pattern. "It reminds me of counted cross stitch too much concentrating
I believe they are both very nice. I dont see any problem.
They both look beautiful to me! Great colors, great fabrics.
I like the first one so you can send it to me and I will take great care of it for you. Now what was the problem???? I sure don't see any!
Good job. I can see the pattern clearly. They both say WOW!
I Think they are both beautiful, nice job.
To me they look fine. There are enough plain uncomplicated fabrics to balance the busy floral ones, and they're in the right places. I think coming up with the right colors and combinations of fabrics is the hardest part, but it's the art. Putting it together is the craft.

the "wow" factor. I think it is not so much a "wow" it's just that they don't "pop" Jinny Beyer has an excellent video on you tube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l9xV73VpccA If anyone knows how to get that "wow" factor it's her. I think every quilter should watch it twice. She does know her colors. JMHO. |
They are gorgeous and don't be so hard on yourself.
Are u crazy????? That's beautiful - here I'll lend you my glasses :)
Don't think you did anything "wrong". Quilting is all a matter of choice. Your second quilt would be beautiful if the floral row were "fussy-cut", placing the same pattern in the same direction on each block. Too late for this one; try it next time!
Very nice!
wow -wow and wow
I think they are both beautiful - but i do like the first one better just my preference |
Lots of WOW for me too. I think they are lovely
I love them both, but I think you might like them better if you used only one or two rows of each color instead of 2 and three together. What I mean is, make the bands of color more narrow, and make more repeats of the bands of color. Does that make sense?
I can see what you are talking about. I think this look comes when you pick several fabrics from the same line. Had you added a couple of other fabrics, with a little different pattern/color, I think you would have been happier. But it is a beautiful quilt, and I think it will grown on you
I don't know what kind of WOW you were looking for but it looks like you got in both the quilts. Looks like a great WOW to me.
I have the same 2 fabrics. I think both look great. Thanks for the pattern ideas. It is now on my list of quilts to do.
I love the colors. I think I "get" what you mean by busy. To my eye, it is the large roses on the dark fabric that are drawing your eye. I think I would have chosen to use a plain dark fabric.
But you know what? This is a beautiful quilt and will be dearly treasured by whomever has the joy to own it.     |
I think they are both beautiful! The first one, on screen, looks really cool!
They are both beautiful. I think I like the second one the best but you did a great job on both.
I really like both of your quilts. But most of the time the trip around the world quilts I have seen have at least six or seven prints.and at least two different colors, not just different shades of the same color. Maybe that is the look you want but it's hard to achieve with fewer prints and all the same color. Your fabric is so nice I can certainly understand why you like it so much. You always make another quilt using that pattern but I'd be very pleased with either of the ones you have already made.
Well, I'm not seeing whatever it is you're not happy with, because they both look lovely to me, especially the second one. We are always our own worst critics, so cut yourself some slack and be very proud of your work.
They are beautiful.
I really like both of these...the petals look like they "float" on the dark and light areas. They are wonderful quilts, but maybe you are seeking to be more "adventurous" with colour and texture...so go for it, but what you have created is just lovely.
