Depends on what I am working on.. I am not good at reading patterns somehow, so I can look at a picture, break it down and then work, but cut, sew, press....pretty much that is it...unless there are a lot of the same then cut, chain, press, chain, press.... guess thats it.. I am really enjoying everyones comments!! Hugs!

I usually cut a few of the blocks to get started. I've always been afraid of the committment to cut it all at once. What if it turns out I don't like it. So, a little at a time. Sometimes while I'm sewing I decide on a different setting or border. I mostly don't have an idea of what it will look like when I'm done, so I'm always surprised.

I cut entire kits out at once. I am a little OCD, so I do the binding first to make sure it is done and waiting on the quilt (Motive to get them done).
I chain like pieces together and press in between each additional step (OCD remember- ;-) )

I cut enough for one block and make it. If it's OK then I'll cut enough for a few more, make them, etc. I jump back and forth. (Short attention span, you know)

I do mine the same as you do too.

Sometimes the "prep" time seems to take FOREVER... but it is worth it. To me, it is just more efficient.

This is what I do most of the time also

I do a little cutting then a little sewing and pressing and then back to cutting. It depends on what my mood is. I may prefer to cut one day. Also it is hard for me to cut at night. I like to do that in the morning and sew at night.

i never cut out a whole quilt at once- to many chance of error- i hate it when i buy a book or pattern that only has instructions for the whole quilt. i want to be able to do a block at a time- that way if i want to change something along the way i'm free to do so- and if i screw up a cut i didn't do it a hundred times.

I do "production style" whenever I can!
