This is one I didn't think I'd ever finish. So much embroidery. I broke it into my own personal BOM, and then it went faster than I expected. Go figure. If you like, you can go to this link and vote for one of the two fabrics I'm auditioning for the binding. You'll find the poll at the top of my left sidebar.

After it's quilted, I'm going to put hot fix crystals in among the embroidered snowflakes. I did that on another quilt last year, and it was very effective.

Fabric for the back

Binding fabrics--the polka dot was used in the inner border. The blue batik is from my stash. Which do you like?

pollyjvan9 08-26-2011 05:48 AM

Beautiful quilt. I have used crystals on snowflakes and love the sparkle.

QuiltE 08-26-2011 05:49 AM

Great quilt ... and your backing is perfect!

Katydid2 08-26-2011 05:50 AM

First - Absolutely stunning! Love the backing! Are you doing another border? I like the blue batik that is in the bottom right star.

kristen0112 08-26-2011 05:51 AM

Super cute! I love the snowmen and snow flakes. I went to your blogspot to vote but on my iPad and it went to gibberish. I really like the Polk-a-dot like a play on snowflakes. And it's more playful than the others with those cute snowmen I think it would look the best.

Jingle 08-26-2011 05:51 AM

Very pretty, no opinion on the border fabrics.

suezquilts 08-26-2011 05:55 AM

Beautiful! You show me there is a light at the end of the tunnel. I'm working on a similar quilt. I'm getting good at the running stitch.
Beauifully done, I love your color choices.
Enjoy.
I can't wait to see the quilting you plan for it!

LAB55 08-26-2011 06:01 AM

Love it! Can't wait to get mine started!

lisalovesquilting 08-26-2011 06:08 AM

Gorgeous and so much work! I vote for the polka dot.

ccb2200 08-26-2011 06:09 AM

Very pretty.

mscupid804 08-26-2011 06:14 AM

The polka dots would look nice since you have it as the inner border.

cherylynne 08-26-2011 06:37 AM

I've seen this quilt finished. Your's is beautiful. I like the batik, but batik is hard to hand sew. Polka dots would be OK for the binding, too.

btiny36 08-26-2011 07:07 AM

Wow love this quilt...I voted....

tealfalcon 08-26-2011 07:13 AM

SWEETPEACHES 08-26-2011 07:14 AM

Beautiful. Polka dots

Murphy 08-26-2011 07:16 AM

This is amazing in blue. My SIL did this in red and it was also an awesome looking quilt. You did a wonderful job. Thank you for sharing.

debcavan 08-26-2011 07:36 AM

That was a lot of time and effort. It looks great.

dakotamaid 08-26-2011 08:04 AM

That is beautiful!

LisaGibbs 08-26-2011 08:05 AM

I liked the red one, however, this one is the prettiest Christmas quilt I have ever seen. I have never been that excited about holiday quilts until I saw yours. Now I am going to get that pattern and make one myself. Amazing!!

Maggie_1963 08-26-2011 08:45 AM

That is so coooooool! You did a great job, I got some thread the other day to begin a redwork project...looks like it was fun!

Really beautiful quilt. I like the blue batik on the left for the binding. Great job.

Really terrific and quite unique! I love all the embroidery you did and the theme!

Robinlee 08-26-2011 01:15 PM

I would do the Blue batik for the binding.
This turned out so cute.........I am doing my in blue too. Only have the top piece to embroidery yet, then need to start piecing my square blocks. I am using a different shades of white/cream and blue snowflake fabric.

marscrafter 08-26-2011 01:34 PM
