Pure Imagination
After about 9 long years, I finished my I spy quilt for myself. I started it when my godson was about 1 1/2 and he is going to be 11. I never finished his as he'd outgrown it by the time I had collected enough...I just found out today that he's going to be a big brother finally so I will finish that one for the baby. I finished mine in time for the Flower Valley Quilt Guild show last week. There are 576 squares and it finished at 108x108- and of course I found a few I thought were in there as soon as it got back from the longarmer. There are Minions on the back as that is my nickname!

I didn't use charm packs, except some friends gifted me a few and I used a bit. You can't see too well here, but each one is an actual I spy fabric and no two squares are the same - a few with different fussy-cuts of the same print, but no two identical. I collected these in swaps, on ebay, and from quilting buddies. Knitette sent me loch ness monster fabric, some of the ladies in the guild found the most "adult" ispy fabric they could find - I have bra and underwear print, unfortunately the hunky guys were in too big a scale to use. Some remind me of things, people and places from childhood, some from college (I used printable fabric and did illustrations from my favorite books as a kid, high school and college logos, etc) and now. There is everything from cabbage patch kids to Dungeons and Dragons in there!
