Default QR code I can't beleive it

My niece has been living with her boyfriend for 15 years. They have two children and they are well established and have lots of fun projects. A week ago, I was told that they decided to get married and they will invite just a few people and I am invited. Now, what do you get them for a gift.... My brother says: no gift, as they have all they want, guests will only pay for their meal and that's it, just a fun reunion.
After reading all the info I could find here on the board and being inspired by some quilters here who posted pictures of their quilt or /and labels made of QR code I thought it would be a good practice for me and a unique "something" for them. I say "something" as I am not allowed to bring a gift loll

So, I decided I would just make them a bag (tote bag or grocery bag, I don't really know how to call it as my english lacks some vocabulary) and I decided to generate a QR code. It ended up being a 25 square grid. For a bag I thought 12 1/2 inches plus sides, top and bottom would do it. So I was determine to try it with 1/2 inch seam... What a trial for my scant 1/4 inch seam lolll

now I can work on making a bag

I'm jumping with joy right now because it works.

These fascinate me. How do you do that? And what does it say?

Does it say "It's about time", LOL. Seriously, that's a thoughtful gift that will be special to them because you made it. Best wishes to the happy couple.

KarenR you need a QRreader app to scan the QR and it reads their name and date. I know there is a program to generate the QR from information you put in and then that's the QR you make

Your comments make me laugh. Yes this is not a gift.... *wink

Right Dunster, I could have written “it’s about time” loll

I know! I don't own a "smart" phone but after reading about it here on the board, I ask myself the same questions: How do you read it, how do you make it Thank you ladies for inspiring me

so here are some links where I learn about it.
In this first topic, there is a link to “how to make a QR code” with (in step one) a link for a QR code generator, it takes an app for your smart phone to be able to read it. I borrowed my husband's phone. I had to see to believe it because otherwise, the 2 color squares and rectangles don't make sense, it is like a "modern" quilt pattern.

Thank you so much ladies for having inspiring me to try something new. Here some of them
