do you have building plans for the island? it looks like file cabinets on the corner I would pay a small fee for plans and supply list....

No building plans. Just file cabinets on the corners and some braces in the center to hold up the 60x80 plywood top. The base is also plywood on a 2x4 frame with casters on the corners. The contractor was originally going to use custom cabinetry all around but in my quest to reduce the cost of the room he came up with the file cabinets. I have my quilting fabric in the ones under the big table and patterns and my tools in the ones under the smaller table. It still ended up being a costly renovation, but since I downsized from the other house I had stashed enough to do a new roof, new windows, and the basement. It was my lifelong dream to have this room. I figured I sacrificed enough over the years to be able to splurge in my old age.

Your room is so wonderful. I sew in my sitting room and I am always crowded and have to clean frequently. You are so lucky to have all that space.
