I live in Indiana, I sent my sister a pkg. in Oregon, It went all the way to Alaska before it came back to her. I had ins. and tracking. The post office said someone just looked at the zip code wrong!

That stinks, I do hope that you get it back but be aware too, that when you insure something through the postal service you must have a receipt for the item. If you feel your quilt was worth $1000 (just tossing a number in) and insured it for $1000 you will need a receipt for $1000 (that you either bought it or sold it) not a receipt from the local fabric store for 50 bucks, claiming that your time was the other $950, they will simply deny your claim.
The only way to go is priority (3 day) & be sure the receiving party is aware it is on it's way so IF the package does not arrive in that 3 days, they can start tracking it right away. They usually tell you the day & before or after 12:00, with delivery confirmation meaning SOMEONE has to sign for it or the package will not be left at your door.

I feel so bad for you, sure hope it shows up. But insuring and delivery confirmation/tracking will help next time.
Keeping my fingers crossed.

I've had things lost for serveral weeks, but once I went to the post office and complained, it showed up in 2 days! If you didn't buy insurance (and I didn't) may sure to still fill out a complain. I'll follow your post to see if it shows up.

I'm sorry to hear this has happened. Did it by chance get mailed thru an area that had storms lately (tornadoes or snow storms)...maybe it's just been delayed or diverted. Adding my prayers in that it shows up safely and in good order.
