A Quilt in memory of a Great-Grandmother
#70
I've just been away for a few days and have come back and read the wonderful comments posted here. Thank you so much for your encouragement. The hedges certainly seem to be a hit! If anyone does a houses and hedges quilt, please let me know - I'd love to see someone else's version!
It has done me so much good to be able to show the quilt to you all in view of the fact that it is going to be hidden away for a few months. I want Mary Ann to be able to put the first anniversary of her mother's death behind her (the end of November)and see if she can enjoy December - not just Christmas, but her birthday on the 20th, Patrick's on the 31st, and their wedding anniversary on the 29th. December is their big month...
I'm sure it will be a special quilt for them. It's been a special quilt for me too because it is the first quilt I have pieced on my 1913 Serata treadle. I think Patrick will be happy about that, he's fairly intrigued by the old machines.
Thanks again everyone!
