It is a good thing that we aren't all comfortable in the same place. Otherwise, no one would reach for something different and this is very pretty. Congratulations on finishing.

It is definitely oriental and modern. I think your friend will like it. I can admire it--I probably wouldn't like it for my own, but can appreciate what you did.

I really like it and it will make a beautiful spread. I love the off center style of Asian quilts.

my girlfriend LOVES IT! yea. thanks everyone- it may very well be the only oriental themed quilt you see from me (but then I have said that about paper pieced quilts- which I've done dozens of now)---- you just never know what the future will bring. sometimes I try something new- hate it- and a few years later decide I love the process- or technique- *i'm pretty sure this Irish girl will never be 'oriental' though

It is a beautiful quilt, may not be to everyone's taste but I'm sure your friend will love it. Great job on the quilting.

I normally don't like a lot of the modern stuff coming out, but this is GORGEOUS!!! Beautiful layout, beautiful quilting!

Being an Irish girl myself, I think this quilt is stunning! Love the contrast between black and cream and the different pictures in it. Very impressed!
