I got mine from Harbor Freight. The magnet is strong enough that I found a needle laying in my skirt once. And I can pick up pins of the floor as they'll jump a half inch or so to reach the bowl. I'll never use a pin cushion again.

Holds the thimble, too.

I got the set from TSC and it was on clearance. 4.99 for ! large oblong one and 2 small round ones. they are definitely strong magnets. I use all three at the sewing machine. 1 for my seam ripper, scissors, etc. 1 for pins and the other for stuff that I might need like bobbins fully loaded for machine. They hold onto the hinges on my machine table.

Guess I'll grab one from my DH 's tools he also has a metal yard stick and that one is comming in the house so it doesn't get sold

I saw these on a quilting website and about died laughing. I've been using one for years when I work on my truck, it holds my bolts screws and tools. My Dh thought it was pretty funny too, and they cost more when you put the quilting label on them. LOL
