Love both designs you've chosen but am considering--I, too, have some red yardage pretty much like yours that has been in my stash too long. Am I figuring correctly, that your 1/2 sq triangles are finished at 4"? That's pretty small but your finished product is fantastic.

illinois....I started with 5" blocks and drew the line down the middle on the backside. Sewed 1/2" on either side of that line. Before joining all the squares together the blocks measured 4 1/2", so yes, they finished off at 4 ". It gave me more seams than I wanted to press flat. Sometimes sacrifices are made. LOL

Thank you for the confirmation. I've been looking for something that I can use that red fabric and this really caught my eye. Am ready for the next project and this might be just the one I'm looking to use. Off to see how much yardage is in that piece. Thanks again! (Did you mean 1/4" either side of that line?)

Are your chevrons made with half square triangles? .........They are so pretty and if I came along you wouldn't have to keep it long-lol

Turned out better than I thought it would so it's one I'll keep for myself for the time being....maybe someone will come along who wants it. Used some scraps to try a Granny Square and will turn it into a pillow or a wall hanging for a craft show this fall.
