Default Red White Blue charity quilt

These blocks were made by Piecemakers quilt group (in Ohio) a few months back and I won them. My friend and I decided to donate the quilt, after it was completed as you see it, to the local American Legion post. They send boxes to military men currently serving anywhere in the world. So far nearly 10,000 boxes have been sent - astounding considering this post is located in a community of (far) less than 1000 people. They have events throughout the year to raise money for the contents of the boxes as well as shipping. This quilt will be raffled at this year's events and presented to the winner later in the year. Hopefully it will be a good money maker for them.

That's lovely. It reminds me of a lot of the quilts our church group makes to take to a local VA hospital.
