You are inspirational with your quilting expertise. Lovely, lovely quilt. Do you have a long arm machine to quilt with? How long have you been quilting - your work is terrific..

Andrea, your work is just fabulous. Your motifs are so small and so incredibly straight. What a beautiful heirloom for your kids to fight over.

No, I am a hand quilter and quilt everything by hand. I have started in 1989.

Well, I don't have kids...but I hope some of my quilts will be on display in a museum somewhere and interested people can enjoy them for a long time.

Did you use a frame when you quilted this?
What size needle, and what kind of thread did you use.
    This is a masterpiece!

I used a 18" hoop on a floor stand. Because I only quilt in one direction I need to turn the quilt.
I mainly use John James Betweens #11, the quilting thread is YLI - both are my favourites.

I quilt towards my body... but I think it doesn't matter how you quilt and which method you use - the result is what counts.

Andrea, this is another amazing quilt! Your hand-stitching is impeccable!

I am guessing you quilted the background of the fabric, too. It looks so perfectly symetrical!

How long have you been hand-quilting? Are you self-taught?

I have started quilting in 1989 and yes, I am self taught. In that time quilts were almost unknown in my area, but I found a book about it.
