Well spotted! Good on you for saving this beautiful quilt! It's such a gorgeous Lone Star quilt! Love the colours!

I can't understand why some people would throw out something so beautiful. Congratulations on saving it.

It’s beautiful. So glad that you found it and it will be in a good home where it is appreciated.

Forget the quilting police. Thank that angel that whispered in your ear to go for it and rescue the poor thing. The essence of the maker dwelled in that quilt and did not want to be cast off.

The nerve (stupidity) of some people. There ought to be a law.

Could it be that he disliked the person who made it so much that it was therapeutic to toss it? I agree, he should have donated it but it has now found a good home.

Note to the young: If you are given or inherit a quilt you don't especially like, just put it away. Perhaps someone else will want it, or you might even like it yourself later on. I inherited a quilt made around 1840 by some ancestor I had never heard of. Years later I took it to the Vermont Quilt Festival to have it appraised. When they had an anniversary show, they asked to borrow it, and I was pleased that her work was appreciated. I still don't care for the colors, but I do appreciate the fine workmanship. Thank goodness for her descendants who took good care of it.
