I think it needs sashing, my choice would be black.

I tried to post a picture of a small check that I think would set off your blocks but no success with that. I have used the check on several little quilts and it sets them off really well. The yellow and black check or the blue and white check would look great.

I put several colors next to 4 of the blocks and the only one that stood out was the multi color green one. I am going to have to go to the fabric store and look around for something with a little design in it..here are two or three of the ones I tried..not real fond of any of them but its all I had in my stash. Thanks for looking

I agree that none of your pictured choices really are quite right.

My choice would be a print with little yellow flowers in it. Doesn't have to be only yellow flowers, just some in amongst the others.

That would give added color as well as tie it all together. Plus the small print would be in keeping with the traditional look of your blocks.

I've had a really cute one that was a lightish green background with lots of different color flowers. Don't imagine that exact one is still available, but you can probably find something similar.

Thanks mom. I kind of think it needs a little "print" instead of a solid color. Last time I had this delimina I went to AppleTree Quilting in Columbia and they helped me pick out a red with light black design then a black stripe on the sides to go with my red/black/white squares and it came out really nice! I see a trip to there again!

you could go for a mid century look with aqua then maybe some white and pink pinwheels in the corners. But then again, think purple would be very cool. I'd love to see it when it is done.

Definitely sashing. May e a brick red or a forest green, depending on the exact shade of yellow. Hard to tell from the pic whether its pastel or deep yellow or tonal, but definitely sashing.
