This quilt took about 4 months to complete. A lot of it was trying to figure out how to make the concepts into a block.
Newtons 3 laws

laser safety-always wear your safety goggles

the basics of radiation safety

discovery of x-rays

Scientific Method

Marie Curie

I had most of the blocks completed and was showing them to the scientists at work when they all said I had to put something about the Manhatten Project. I'm like, "You're joking right? This is a baby quilt." They kept telling me that I couldn't have a complete history of science without it.... So I settled for words, I figure she can look it up when she's older.

Now THAT is a fabulous quilt. I feel like I've had a little science refresher just looking at your pictures!!
I love how you have quilted it, too. The whole thing is just plain ol' scientific poetry. :) :)

You have both sides of the brain going there, for sure!
I would be so thrilled if someone made a quilt like that for my children. I have a handkerchief with basic scientific principles on it and I love it.
I think this is fabulous idea and I congratulate you on it!

My quilting friends had seen the finished product and kept harrassing me to enter it into the fair. I've never done that before and I'd already given it the family.
So finally I asked my co-worker if it could have it back for the fair for just a couple weeks and "you can so no, it's ok. I won't be offended. It will give me an excuse not to enter it."
They were estactic to see it in the county fair, I was friends with the lady who did the ribbons so she allowed me to have a second 3rd place ribbon so I could have one for my scrap book and they could keep one attached to the quilt.
