The block is great for a beginner. When I read the title I thought you were talking about the bug jar but was pleasantly surprised with your pretty block

It's not that wonky, nice fabric and color choices. You should have seen some of my early blocks if you want to see wonky, but practice makes better quilts. I agree with ManiacQuilter2, making flying geese units instead of HST's and you get better control, with not as much piecing, and your points look good. Some spray starch and pressing should even things out on the block. You did a good job on the block, so don't be so hard on yourself, as much as we try (and I'm a bit of a perfectionist) to be perfect, you do your best and the more you quilt, the better you will get, so don't be discouraged.

I think you did a pretty good job, too. You'll get better and better with what you perceive as "wonky".
