Sewing Room Help
#21
Get some of the big under the bed storage containers. They will help camoflage your stash. Then put a beautiful spread on the bed with a bed skirt. He won't know what is under the bed and the room can be shown as a bedroom.

When was the last time you wore your 'skinny' clothes?
I think the stylists on tv and the magazine articles all say....
If it's quite some time ago that you wore those clothes, consider them out of style and donate them for now. Getting 'new skinny' clothes could be a great motivator to lose those extra pounds.
That will also give you a lot more room in your closet...and keep hubby happy.

if you have another room tell hubby that you are taking that one over temporarily so that you can de-stash and get the room organized. next empty out the room completely, closets included. then get a smaller bed. a full size or a twin to put in the room. Make sure you stage the room not like it is your sewing room per say but more a guestroom. take the TV out and if you have a flat screen that is smaller go with that on the wall. I wish that I could come over and help but I don't know where you are and you are probably not in the KCMO area. I would get one of those closet maid closet systems with shelves and rods and drawers. and put that in and then get some clear plastic containers and organize what will be left of your stash and put it in the closet. remember not to fill the closet up too much because you are trying to sell your house. If you have a storage shed I would box up anything that is not necessary to any project you are currently working on. And the same with the rest of the house. declutter. and keep the personal items to a min. people when they are house hunting, unless they are like my family, many times can't see past other peoples things. My grandma for one. my parents found this wonderful house but my grandma refused to live there because it was decorated with antique country furniture. when you have a showing make sure the house is spotless and smelling very nice many bake cookies or a pie before a showing or have some very nice air freshner in the house, just make sure it is not too strong to over power people. I had better stop here. you probably know all this.

I would fold everything neatly and put in the bins you already have. Make the bed with a nice spread. and stack the bin neatly in the corner. An unmade bed always makes a room look messing even if it's not. Keeping a house neat while it is listed is a pain. But believe it or not people look at design and where they will put things so just keep it looking presentable and most of all keep sewing if some one comes during the middle of a project so be it Maybe a quilter also.jmho

I used to keep skinny clothes until my sister convinced me to get rid of them!!! If I get thinner I'm going to treat myself to new things. I gave them all away to the homeless and felt like a million bucks! :D

The "skinny clothes" can't go anywhere. I have had to change my diet drastically since the first of the year and I have lost 75 lbs. about another 20 lbs. and I will be in them. As soon as that happens, my big clothes are getting donated. Woo Hoo!!! I still have a lot to lose so these are just going to be passing thru clothes and when I get down to where I want hubby has already said I can get a whole new wardrobe.
I am heading out to get a couple of big storage containers for my fabric. Then it can be stored at my mother's while we sell. She has a room that is temp controlled but they just use it for storage so she said I can keep the fabs. there rather than put in our attic.

Hey, hubby can't be all that bad if you get a new wardrobe. Way to go! If it were me, after all is said and done, I would make hubby a nice quilt to call his own. Tell him you just used your "crap" material. (His word, not mine!)
