Default Singer 301A

Woooo Hoooo! She didn't have to ask me twice if I wanted it. I've only been hinting for years. Today my mom asked if I wanted it TODAY since my son was in town to help me move it. She said there is only one catch... if she needs something sewn I have to sew it. No problem! Now let's load it up in the truck before she changes her mind :-)

I got it home and took it apart, cleaned it, oiled and lubed it, put it all back together and took pictures. My guess is that Mom never ever, ever cleaned it. Some of the dust bunnies were so old they had died up in there LOL I know she oiled it once in a while, but the original tube of lubricant was still in one of the drawers and it didn't look like it had been used. It was a little dinged up, but full. The machine runs so smooth and everything seems to work. I haven't tried any of the attachments, but there is a fancy schmacy binder foot that just might come in handy for quilting

Congrats! My 301A is black. Great looking cabinet. Are you able to take yours out to the cabinet? Mine has clips and I love that feature. Also, has the knee control. Can tell you are already loving yours.

Thumbs up

Congrats. What a great gift. I don't have one yet but it's on my #1 list. Great name. One of my FW's name is Wanda too.
