The purple 30s fabric with little white motifs and the dark purple fabric was sent ot me a while ago by butterflywing and I wanted to do something special with it - it went perfectly (I think!) with the calico which I got in Holland. It's machine quilted - zig zag over the seams and swirls (like a snail's shell) on the border and in the open spaces of the calico snails.
It's a throw for our little purple sofa which has suffered at the hand (or rather claws!) of the cat. The kitty in the picture is Pépite, our newest quilt inspector. :D

Pépite just came back from the vets where she had her first shots - she's a bit subdued to say the least, and I think she's got a sore throat because she's uncharacteristically silent! :shock:
